Broadcasters now are afraid to stand up and say what everyone is saying in the coffee shops, lest they get fired for offending some group. So we really are left with fake/ disingenuous news.
That Virginia candidate dressed up as a rapper in black face to attend a party when he was 19 years old...decades ago. Who cares?
Where is the voice of reason in the media? Where has the heartfelt truth gone?
I believe these movements I mentioned in my Header have contributed greatly to the obfuscation of information. Subtlety, nuance and context has been replaced by 'the gotcha mentality'.
We've made great strides over the last few decades...access to information...women's rights...anti-bullying...gay rights...mental health awareness...etc.
But unfortunately, the politically correct baggage...of language and actions has followed right behind.
