Did you know energy can be converted to matter?

Yeah, in particle accelerators with massive amounts of energy involved, or high energy wavelengths like gamma rays. The solar energy coming in as infrared? Not high enough energy to create an electron-positron pair, let alone the more exotic particles.

Far as I'm concerned, the whole global warming or climate change debate comes down to one thing: we do not have the modelling capacity to completely understand or accurately predict climate.

There are common-sense measures that can be useful (like pollution control) and also alleviate AGW if it's happening. But nobody's interested in that. This has become a holy war.

And in plants.

And in plants.

Plants do not create matter from energy. They require more than a photon to make a sugar. The photon hits the pigment and an electron starts the reaction. Part of that reaction uses up other matter. Plants convert.

Now there are other factors? You've ran a one ring CO2 theory circus for years now there are other potentials? Which one flat lined warming even with higher and higher CO2?

Does this mean the blind bipolar bears will see again?

It's time for the Petros Dance again I see.

Who knows which one flatlined warming. I don't really get the GCMs. I know quite a bit about radiation physics and thermodynamics, so that's why I run the CO2 theory circus.

My suspicion is that the earth is trying to maintain homeostasis--pushing back against the extra heat of anthropogenic CO2, in a manner similar to LeChatelier's Principle. That would explain the flatline in the warming, but some other odd signals, like arctic/antarctic ice, those weird holes i Siberia, etc. Eventually the forcing will overcome the negative feedback and you'll get a sudden bifurcation, adn some sudden warming. That's my suspicion, but like I said, I mostly understand the thermo.

Past temperature in Greenland adjusted to fit new theory

bitches

From the University of Copenhagen – Niels Bohr Institute

(BTW, the phrase “Past temperature in Greenland adjusted” in the headline is their choice of words, not mine.)

One of the common perceptions about the climate is that the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, solar radiation and temperature follow each other – the more solar radiation and the more carbon dioxide, the hotter the temperature. This correlation is also seen in the Greenland ice cores that are drilled through the approximately three kilometer thick ice sheet. But during a period of several thousand years up until the last ice age ended approximately 12,000 years ago, this pattern did not fit and this was a mystery to researchers. Now researchers from the Niels Bohr Institute have solved this mystery using new analytical techniques. The results are published in the prestigious scientific journal Science.

The revised Greenland temperature history (black curve, grey uncertainties) for the period 18,000 to 10,000 before present. This temperature history is based on temperature interpretation from nitrogen measurements (green curve) and O18 diffusion measurements (red curve). The blue curve is from a previous study, based on nitrogen measurements. Credit: Niels Bohr Institute

The impossible has happened before? Explain in detail.

Did I say that?

Nope.

What's the trend?

Up or down.

Like I said, when the trend goes in the opposite direction over the same time period with increased C02 I will buy what you are selling.

Until then....let's wait a few decades shall we.
