Contrary to popular opinion, depending on how one understands the Qur'an, the Qur'an either discourages polygamy or outright enjoins monogamy. Those who interpret Qur'an 4:3 and 4:129 more loosely believe that it is difficult to contract a polygamous marriage while still conforming to both of those verses simultaneously. Consequently, some jurisdictions such as Iran's have laws that limit polygamy to four wives and even then discourage it.
Those who interpret those verses more strictly insist that it is impossible to contract a polygamous marriage without violating at least one of the two verses. It's a perfectly normal, everyday, common belief shared by billions, if not most, human beings to think that gay marriage is wrong and that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. Well both Christians and Muslims and many millions of citizens think gay marriage is wrong. Liberals and the PC Brigade may see gay marriage as normal but to most ordinary people - including many gays - it's seen as wrong and a bit... weird... and that marriage should be between a man and a woman.

There's nothing weird in believing that marriage should be between a man and a woman and NOT between a man and a man, a woman and a woman or a woman and a horse.
It is, in fact, a normal, common, everyday belief and that it is the belief that two men and two women can marry each other that is weird.
