First 39% was around where Harper used to be, and if you combine the
figures from all parties that voted against Harper a majority of Canadians
wanted change and they got it.

Love revisionist logic. 39% is a ringing endorsement when it is for the leftoid party but not good enough for the other guys.

He won because Harper and his secret inner sanctum was becoming more and more inward and creapy, doing crazy sh1t like generating legislation that was going to suspend parts of our Bill of Rights. Governments wear out. That one wore out. The Conservatives lost the election and the Liberals took power. I don't see a sweeping philosophical change in our country, only in some of the media coverage

What you are saying about excessive promises is probably true in a way but that's not what got them elected.
