well it is under the christian discussion thread so why would you read it if you dont wanna? anyway, sanctus posts lots of more stuff than christian things.or do you just notice these?

I honestly havent seen anything posted by sanctus which isnt based on the bible or some christian article he's cut-and-paste from the web. hence my post.

I stand corrected i suppose.

id say yeah, because wed be better off without hurtng ourselves and each other.know what i mean. isnt that the main ting about sinning, that we are sorta hurting ourselves or other people

what would become of all the religions. Maybe they could just focus on dealing with "helping" people
who are less fortunate that themselves, which is what I really like about the " CHURCH" and their role
in society. There are so many people who need "some" sort of help, and without the church and other
foundations, that help would not be there. Although I am not religious, I do see the great contribution
the churches make, although I see them as a "help" organization" rather than a religious one.

There would be less "wars", as the different religions wouldn't be "sinning", eg. not tolerant, and narrow
minded of other's beliefs, and the muslim's wouldn't have to worry about the pope making remarks,
because they would take it all in stride, and understand the meaning behind the statement he made.
I correct myself, there would be "no" wars, as all countries would be understanding of each other,
and find "positive" ways to "get along".

Oh my, this idea of living without "sin" is taking my breath away.

And, the religious and non religious would be 100% tolerant and understanding of each other's positions
re: to believe or not believe.

I know someone is going to blow me right out of the water on this one, but it is an interesting thought
while it lasts.

Don't hit me too hard or you"ll have to run to the nearest confessional booth.

Have a good one.

are you kidding? most of his posts arent religious ones. also seems like he posts a lot of what turns into gooddiscussions, like the one about the 15 year old guy getting laid by a 40 year old woman

i wont have to run to a confessonal cos i dont belong to the roman catholic church or any church really. im just seeking what looks like a good path for me right now. i gotta admit the catholic church looks the best so far.everytime i read stuff from protestant people they seem so wacked to me. if i was gonna go in a christia direction, it makes sense to go with the original church instead of one of the offshoots.

yeah, youre right, i gotta admit that too. the churches do allot of things that wouldnt get done without them around. funny that we even need to have churches do what we should all be doing anyway, dont ya think?

Maple you've misread me. I KNOW the gosple of mary is just a story just like ALL the gospels are just stories. The MEN of the time didnt add her Gospel because it empowered women Period. And the bible does very little teaching about true accepting love. It teaches sepratism and encourages hate against mant sections of people. Women, homosexuals, jews, mentally ill. MANY are not "good enough"

you think? im reading this sermon on the mount from jesus in matthew that is pretty good about love and all that. but i dont know, im kinda just seeking right now. thats why i keep up on this christian thread cos i really feel the need for something but i dont know what yet. i know for damned sure it aint gonna be one of those wacked protestant born-again groups.no disprespect to guys like aj cos im sure he means well, but everytime i read that kind of stuff it sounds so wacked to me.i mean, hes probably a really nice guy, but some of his thoeries are like way out there, know what i mean?

yes please. that would be cool. see, we didnt grow up catholic. supposedly we were anglican but we only went at christmas and easter so it didnt fizz me at all. then my dad got born-again and he became such a good christian he left my mom and my sister and brother and me cos we didnt go into that wacky born-again crap.my mom told me he said she was going to hell or something, probably me too!

all he used to do was quote bible stuff at us all the time. couldnt have a real conversation with him after he was born again.

Im so sorry you went through that. Seems we both have had bad experiences. I understand AJ because he's so full of Love for his god that he just wants EVERYBODY to understand whats in his heart. Thats all. Hes really not trying to convert people and not once have I read him to say Im going to hell. He has a kind heart. Im quite good at reading that sort of thing :) you have a good heart too.

Give me 30 mins to type this out Im a horrible typer LOL

I guess you have a point there, but I would think the church is "us", or at least those of us who go to
church, and those of us who don't, (like myself), can work with other organizations who also do a very
good job helping out people in need. We all have to look after one another, we are not all the same,
some of us can cope in most any situation, and some can't cope, even in situations that are not so bad.
It feels good to help people feel good, and there are those who are "just" lonely and need company, and
going to church is a social experience which brings them out, so that they don't sit home alone.

Ok short. Sin is here because of the flesh. Sin is not here because of the spirit of God in us.
Sin is a separation from God.
God in us, is not having separation, so....... we are sinless!

When I was a little girl in catholic school, we went to confession every Sunday, and I always felt good
knowing that my "little" sins of that week were erased from my guilty conscience.

But now that I am an adult, I think that is too easy, catholics can sin, sin, sin, and go to
confession and have them all wiped away. Wow what a break.

I don't believe in all of that any more, and I have to be very careful about my "not so good" human
failings I might have, because I would have to live with them, and find a way for a "real" person, who
might have been the brunt of that act to "forgive" me, so, I take care concerning my actions in life,
I don't have the benefits of a confessional.

It seems like a silly, fake method of wiping the slate clean, it's just a little game, in the church, that
many people can take advantage of.

Actually confession is about the only thing I like about the catholic church. The "little" sins such as impure thoughts, lust and envy can be wiped off the slate. Actual crimes is another story but I think the Catholic church requires that crimes be confessed to non-secular authorities.

In my opinion the only forgiving that needs to be done here is by you. You dont need forgiveness from a higher power, your your worst enemy lol I know I am. I punish myself everyday for not being a good mother, friend, partner, whatever. But my higher powers Love me so much more than I love myself, they know Im a child, living as a child should, by trial and error. They dont damn me and they sure as hell dont want me too. My Fae tells me all the time "Sug, be gentle with yourself" and if it wasnt so long a phase Id tatoo it to my forehead ;)
