Rangers win!

Lundqvist faced a barrage of third period SOGs but he held up very well and was tonight's MVP.

On to LA for Friday's next match.

Meanwhile, it will be difficult to navigate the remaining games with the World Cup starting tomorrow. But we'll see ....

Well, that is good news- to be perfectly honest I had forgotten all about a game tonight and just took it for granted the season was done. Now that they have that taste of blood anything is possible. L.A. has won its share of Stanley Cups for awhile!.

well, i'm glad rangers won this one, for vigneault's sake.

i will be cheering hard for l.a. kings to win the series at home.

they were solidly the better team tonight, but like i said last night,
maybe the bounces will go rangers way next game, and that is exactly
what happened, so good for them.

no they haven't. they have won the stanley cup 'once.'

rangers have won it 'four' times.

Until the last whistle blew, I was sure one of those LA pucks would make it into the net but somehow Hank kept them out. That save by Stepan was unbelievable and in the end, It was Mighty Mouse who scored the winning goal for the Rangers. I am happy for the fans that they got to see their team at least win one in the series.

Ugh! Was watching when my stream froze and I missed the Kings winning shot

Saw it on replay

Kudos to the Kings for a job well done.
The TV went haywire after the goal over here. They switched from CBC to NBC. Not sure what happened. Maybe something blew up!

Heck of a series - very intense play all series long. The only problem - the season is too long: it started preseason on October 1 and ended after 9 months!

Great fun but gosh it must be awful tough on the players.

what a great game, and not the pits at all, if one really loves hockey, this game was the ultimate,
doesn't matter who one is cheering for.

the game was mostly the l.a. kings, but there were some spots where the rangers dominated for a while,
then it would go back to the kings again.

the overtime was mostly the kings, but again the rangers certainly had their chances, and as i always
say, in OT either team can win, as we saw tonight, and other nights as well.

i am so happy that the kings won it at home, in front of their own fans, there is nothing better.
its great that the cup stays in the west, and even more so that the kings are in our own division,
which definitely was the strongest division in the nhl this season.

congratulations to the l.a. kings, a great team, showed so much courage and 'never quit' attitude,
as we saw, they went through three top teams to get to the finals, a very deserving champion.

i wonder if willie mitchell will go to the top of that mountain again, here on the
island, with his dad and the stanley cup.
that was awsome to see.

this is the second cup win for the kings, would have been the fifth for the rangers. i think the last time
the rangers won it, was when they beat the canucks, and all of b.c. hated the rangers for a long time because
of that 7 game run.

can't wait now to find out who the canucks will be hiring for their new coach, should happen soon, now that
the playoffs Are over.

good for vigneault, he had a good run, but i'm very glad he did not win, i had a soft spot for him cause
he is a good coach and a nice guy, but l.a. is our team, and we want the cup in the west, not in
new york, that isn't our turf, and besides they have won it enough.

LETS KEEP IT IN THE WEST, AND ESPECIALLY ON THE WEST COAST------------------------------------------------

Helluva a game and OT simply rocked........edge of your seat stuff all the way and it could have easily gone to the Rangers at times. Ah well, many congrats to the Kings on the Stanley Cup win and many thanks to the Rangers for helping to make the final such an entertaining game.

Here's your guys celebrating the Cup talloola..........though the actual Cup is a bit hard to see. LOL. I was switching back and forth between the Lion's game and the hockey game too until the second OT when I knew if something was going to happen it would be in this period.......glad I stayed tuned to hockey as I really would not have wanted to miss one bit of the action.

it was funny, i turned to my daughter and said "what if this goes on for hours without a goal", and I
no sooner said that, that they scored, i was glad to see it end, a great game, but enough is enough,
all of those players had been through enough, please please, someone just score a goal, thats how I
felt at that moment, but of course then I hooped and hollered, and we were very happy for our team at
that moment.

i don't see darryl sutter in that picture, but of course they took many pictures. he was being interveiwed
when they began to take the pictures, and he had to leave his interview to get in the picture, sure don't
want the coach left out, he is the heart beat of that team.

there is going to be lots of changes happening with teams between 'now' and 'september', especially in
the east, as they need to raise the quality of many of those teams.

the pacific division is so good, that vancouver, edmonton and calgary will be scrambling big time to
catch up to the rest of them, but that is part of the fun and can make them very motivated.

i'm allready excited about next season, but i certainly need a couple of months away from the hockey,
so i can focus on different things, but sports in this family is what it is all about, among many other
things, and our dog training, but guess that is a sport too, and my husbands hunting and fishing.

and of course we are right into the 'u s open golf' too, and my grandson's golf as well, as he is doing
so well.

enjoy your football, and i will be looking for lots of information on the cfl from you.

canucks have put david booth on waivers, and

will do the compliance buy-out if he isn't picked up. he had one year left on his contract
which came with him from florida, 4.75 million per season, so the buy-out is 2/3 of that amount.

that relieves canucks of that amount off of the cap for coming season.

teams were given the choice of 'two compliance buy-outs after the last cba agreement. they have from
now till the end of june to do that, then no more.

canucks bought out keith ballard last season.

I thought Booth had a good attitude.

I thought Booth had a good attitude.

yes, he always had a very good attitude, but on the stat sheet, there isn't a column
for attitude, and the other columns had low numbers.

over the long haul, he was getting far too much money for the level of play
he showed, And wAs injured a lot over the period of time with the canucks.

he was given that big contract for one year that he scored over 30 goals, in florida, and
didn't get close to that number again.

I have to confess that the Blues were kinda lucky to get to the finals. In truth, I'll probably have to wait another generation before they are back in the Cup finale. Don't think I'll be around to see it but one can hope! :)

On to CFL season ....
