It will be interesting to check the power rankings in the morning, Sharks are currently in 2nd place- I'm thinking they will drop to 15th.

yep, sharks are in a bit of a funk right now, but they did get a point. shoot out loss.
I was just glad the Jets managed to pick up two points and the psychological boost it should give them. Canadian teams aren't doing well right now.
What's with all the close low scoring games this year?
canucks played a very good game, they were the better team for almost the whole game.
niemi was the difference, if it wasn't for him canucks would have run away with the
game early on.
too bad how it ended, bieksa took an untimely penalty, in the box when needed the most,
then henrik in ot, extremely hard to defend 4 on 3.
anything can happen with a 1-0 lead, and it did, but the team played well, deserved the win,
just didn't happen, thems the breaks.
san jose 2 canucks 1 in OT
I have to say, the better team won. The team that scored the most goals deserved to win. The Canucks sat on a one to nothing lead and San Jose tied it up. A dumb penalty, and the game was won in ot Mostly I admire the Canucks, but not this game.
Actually in this game, #Juan while the Sharks won, the Canucks were the better team for 25 minutes, 15 seconds while the Sharks were the better team for less than a split second.
exactly, whatever the outcome is, one can't delete what happened 'all' game, and you're right, canucks
were by far the better team all game, and a gliche changed the outcome, but that is 'only' the outcome,
not the process.
the better team in this game did 'not' win, they got lucky with one fluke goal, and capitalized on
a penalty to win. simple
if one is blinded by a loss, then one can block out all that went right for the canucks in the process,
and dwell on the outcome.
An excellent coach will always see the process first, and the outcome second, even
if it is a win.
That sounds more like emotion than reason. An excellent coach will find a way to win. A fluke goal is still a goal. San Jose out shot the Canucks in the third period as well as the overtime.

That is quite true, most of the time BUT sometimes both teams have excellent coaches so then another factor besides the ability of the coaches comes into play, often the clock is the deciding factor. THE BEST TEAM DOES NOT ALWAYS WIN.
absolutely jlm, i've watched many very good games, where one knew which ever team was ahead when
the buzzer went would prevail, and that is usually a very entertaining game, either very well played, where both goalies are hot, and players are playing good offense
and defense,
or loosely played, where both teams are a bit 'off' and goals are scored often.
the joy of the sport jlm, if we always knew we were going to win, or knew much of anything about events
throughout the game, the 'point' of watching, and participating in a sport would be lost.
the joys and the dissapointments of a game is what makes sport alive and well.
One big problem, Talloola is a mentality that is prevalent in the sports' world. That sports commentator I used to listen to on C.K.N.W. about 15 years ago had that exact mentality, winning was everything, this was no excuse or reason for losing.....................and of course with a closed mind like that who is going to take anything from a losing game? There is just nothing to gained from it,,,,,,,,,,hee hee hee.
STARS (10-7-2) at CANUCKS (11-7-3)
TV: FS-SW, SNET-P
Last 10: Dallas 6-2-2, Vancouver 5-3-2
Season Series: This is the first of three meetings between the Vancouver Canucks and Dallas Stars. Last season, the Stars split the two games against Vancouver at home and took the lone meeting at Rogers Arena.
Big Story: These teams are going in opposite directions. The Canucks are mired in a three-game winless streak, and the Stars are enjoying a season-best five-game road win streak. Dallas scored seven goals against the Calgary Flames on Thursday. That's the same number of goals Vancouver has scored in its past five games combined.
