Maybe not so much -LOL I'm one of five people in this house and can't afford all the channels to please everyone, anyway not a biggie, I can follow the highlights on the computer. -:)

the unbelievable part was your take on the game when you didn't see it, not that you
don't have the channel.

someone who doesn't watch a game and study just how each period played, can't have an accurate
criticizm on anything much that happened.

but thats not anything new as many times the feedback from some here astonishes me, so I guess
that is life.

it is amazing how 'losing' clouds manys abilities to 'see', and more importantly unable to see
both sides of a game.

I enjoyed the game very much, but did notice all through the game 'how' the canucks just don't
seem to have very much ability to beat a goalie and score goals, 'then' when the opposition
goalie is playing 'lights out' as columbus goalie did, it completely shuts the door.

there was absolutely nothing wrong with the play of eddie lack, so, as someone who didn't
see the game, I am enlightening you, and giving you information you couldn't have had.

try to find clips of the columbus goals, and you will see that he was cleanly beaten by
shots that would beat any goalie 95 percent of the time.
the vancouver defense can be blamed for allowing a player to skate right around them, and
get right into the goal unharmed, on one of the goals, for a quick one on one and a good shot.

it would have been quite acceptable for the canuck goal to be 'disallowed' as the crowd around
their goalie pushed him into the net, the whistle was far too slow, the puck got push through
his legs into the goal, and they counted it, and as I mentioned before if it had been in the
vancouver nets, we would still be hearing the complaints.

Tickets going for $6 for tomorrow's game with the Islanders.

shorty and john garrett who travel with the team and broadcast the games said that they and
many others don't like going to that rink, apparantly its in an area that isn't exactly
welcoming and I think they are all happy when they can leave there, BUT

in a couple of years that team will play out of brooklyn in a much more interesting part of new york.

maybe then they will bring in more fans, hence ticket prices will go up, but I guess their rent will
be higher and all of their other expenses as well.

they tried for a brand new complex where they are now, but, 'no luck', so that was dropped.

now, tell me, is that price for 'any' ticket to the game or?

I just heard that somewhere recently. I'm not sure I'd want to travel anywhere in N.Y. alone after dark! -:)

Season series: This is the first of two meetings between the Vancouver Canucks and New York Islanders. In their most recent matchup, on Nov, 13, 2011, Henrik Sedin had the game-winning goal and Roberto Luongo stopped 23 shots as the Canucks defeated the Islanders 4-1 at Rogers Arena.

Big story: This is the third game in four days for the Canucks, who are in the midst of a six-game road trip and had a rough weekend with a shootout loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday and a 3-1 defeat against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday.

Team Scope:

Canucks: It's hard to analyze Vancouver 10 games into the John Tortorella era. On the one hand, the Canucks have received balanced scoring, with 10 players putting up at least four points. Luongo has solid, if not spectacular numbers (2.47 goals-against average, .910 save percentage). Yet, the team has lost as many as it's won and is just fifth in the Pacific Division.

Luongo had the night off Sunday as Eddie Lack made his second NHL start against the Blue Jackets. He stopped 26 of 28 shots, but Henrik Sedin's power-play goal in the second period was all the offense the Canucks could muster.

"He played a great game," Sedin said of Lack. "He's given us a chance to win in each of his starts. That's all you can ask from him."

Islanders: Over in the Metropolitan Division, a 2-1-2 home record has New York entrenched in third place as it looks to follow up on a Stanley Cup Playoff appearance last season.

The Islanders had at least a point in each of their first four games at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, but their bid to make it five Saturday fell just short against the Carolina Hurricanes. The Islanders cut into a 4-1 deficit in the latter stages of the third on goals by Frans Nielsen and Kyle Okposo, but suffered a 4-3 defeat to the second-place Hurricanes.

"We've got to play a full 60 minutes," defenseman Andrew MacDonald said. "There wasn't enough urgency early. We were kind of standing around a little bit too much and we got burnt a few times. It's unacceptable."

Who's hot: Henrik Sedin has two goals and four assists during a five-game point streak for the Canucks. … John Tavares has four goals and six assists during a seven-game point streak for the Islanders. Matt Moulson has two goals and three assists during a three-game point streak. Okposo has consecutive games with a goal and an assist. Nielsen has three goals in the past four games.

Injury report: Vancouver forwards Alexandre Burrows (foot) and Jordan Schroeder (ankle) are on injured reserve. … New York defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky (concussion) was placed on injured reserve retroactive to Saturday.

I just heard that somewhere recently. I'm not sure I'd want to travel anywhere in N.Y. alone after dark! -:)

still would like to know if 'all' tickets for the game are 7 dollars or?

I'll bet 'gillis' is breathing a sigh of relief today, because michael gtabner is not playing for
islanders today, as he is out of lineup with 2 game suspension.

lots of fans will forget what a terrible trade it was when he sent grabner as part of the trade
for ballard.

grabner was very very fast and had been playing with kesler and hansen, and I remember one of the
color guys announcing a game remarking that it looked like the fastest line in hockey.

then, poof, he was gone, then florida sent him on to the islanders right out the next training camp,
and he hasn't looked back. he is on the top line, might have the most points to start their season,
and playing with taveres must be so much fun.
grabner has played well ever since he arrived in new york, a very young promising player, whom
gillis dismissed as a throw in player, to sweeten the pot, to get ballard.

my confidence in gillis has been sliding slowly down, and I do wish we had a g.m. who was much
more saavy, with a better 'eye' for players.

s0 when it was 2-0 early in the game for the islanders, I mentioned 'why' do other teams get our
rebounds, and 'WE' never get the rebounds from their goalies, WELL I no sooner said that that
we ended with 2 goals on rebounds, so much for that.

caNucks played well, not a bad game, pretty raggy at times, luongo let in one he wanted back, but other than that he
had a very good game, and gary valk said as much in post game interview along with taylor.
islanders had more good scoring chances than canucks, where luongo had to come up with key saves, which he did.

officials let lots of things go in the game for both sides, I don't mind that so much.

not a bad road trip, 7 out of a possible 10 points so far.

next game in new jersey on thursday.

canucks 5 - islanders 4

Yeah, the right team won this one, Lu looked good as did Bieksa, Higgins, the twins. Bit of a nail biter though.

You forget that Grabner was doing very little here Yes it's good to hear he's improving but he had all the hallmarks of a floater- a fast one but a floater.

grabner was very young, just out of rookie year, he was developing, and you must be forgetting when
they put him with kesler and hansen, how fast that line was, and he was just beginning to bloom,
it was a big mistake,
you don't label a young kid like that as a floater, he was finding his way, and it was obvious
how much talent he had to be developed, he was on his way.
it is up to the coach to develope him further, gillis cut that off, now it is evident how that talent
could have been developed, he is a man now with a family and lots of confidence.

Vancouver
Canucks @ New Jersey - thursday nov 24 - 4:00 p.m.

Canucks go for sweep of season series vs. DevilsWednesday, 10.23.2013 / 5:32 PMMike G. Morreale - NHL.com TV: SNET-VAN, MSG PLUS

Last 10: Vancouver 6-3-1

Season series: This is the second of two meetings this season. On Oct. 9, Mike Santorelli scored 2:18 into overtime to give the Vancouver Canucks a 3-2 victory. New Jersey Devils goalie Cory Schneider, acquired June 30 in a trade with the Canucks, took the loss. Vancouver goalie Roberto Luongo made 21 saves to pick up the victory.

Big story: The Canucks have two games remaining on their seven-game road trip, which concludes Friday at Scottrade Center in St. Louis. The Canucks are currently 3-1-1 on the trip, notching victories against the Philadelphia Flyers, Buffalo Sabres and New York Islanders. Vancouver coach John Tortorella made David Booth a healthy scratch in Tuesday's win against the Islanders and dressed a seventh defenseman, Andrew Alberts.

"He's not doing enough to play," Tortorella said of Booth. "I am not going to get into a public conversation about him. That's how I feel about it right now. That's all I am going to give you."

Team Scope:

Canucks: One player thriving in Tortorella's system is defenseman Kevin Bieksa, who had an assist and was on the ice for Vancouver's final three goals in a 5-4 overtime victory against the Islanders on Tuesday. The Canucks rallied from a 2-0 deficit and battled back to grab a 4-3 lead entering the third period.

"I just think he is a warrior," Tortorella told The Vancouver Sun. "We all know what he brings. I think we need more of that strut within our team. At times he gets sloppy, but in these types of situations he is the type of guy you want on the ice.

"I think we can correct some of the things and teach how we want him to play a little bit more defensively in certain situations. But he is a gunslinger, and I like that. We need more gun-slingers."

The Canucks lost wing Jannik Hansen with seven minutes left in the first period when he crashed into the end boards with Islanders defenseman Brian Strait.

Devils: After doing all the right things while beating the rival New York Rangers 4-0 on Saturday, the Devils were forced to go back to the drawing board following an ugly 4-1 loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday at Nationwide Arena. The Devils took a 1-0 lead on a power-play goal by Michael Ryder in the second period but then gave up four unanswered on the way to losing their seventh straight road game (0-5-2) without a win this season.

"It's not where we wanted to go," Schneider told The (Bergen) Record. "We could have jumped these guys in the standings in our division and, again, we had a good start to the game and got the first goal and just weren't able to finish it off. You don't want to use words like frustration, but at some point we have to address what needs to be fixed and go out and execute."

Schneider is 1-3-1 with a 2.21 goals-against average and .917 save percentage in five starts for New Jersey this season. Martin Brodeur (0-2-2, 3.40 GAA, .865 save percentage) is seeking his first win.

Who's hot: The Canucks are led by Henrik Sedin (three goals, 13 points) and his twin brother, Daniel Sedin (three goals, 10 points) through 11 games. ... Jaromir Jagr has three points in New Jersey's last two games.

Injury report: Hansen (upper body) is doubtful, and Alexandre Burrows (foot) and Jordan Schroeder (ankle) are out for the Canucks. … For the Devils, forward Ryane Clowe (head) is doubtful and defensemen Bryce Salvador (hip) and Peter Harrold (upper body) are questionable. The team expects to have forward Patrik Elias (illness) back in the lineup after he missed the past two games.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

not sure who is in goal tonight, perhaps torterella will play lack tonight
and luongo tomorrow against st. louis, st. louis appears to be a tougher
game, but who knows, 'no' team is a sure win 'ever'.
If a team doesn't come to play and play their best, they will be beaten by
anyone.

A very ugly game, and a very tired looking canuck team.

luongo was sharp and kept them in the game much of the time.

they now have 9 out of 12 points on rhia road trip, pretty good.

kesler has had two pretty good games now, hope that keeps up.

don't know what happened to weiss and booth, both gone with injuries.

don't know who is in goal tomorrow, I have a feeling they will play luongo again.

hope they can find their legs for tomorrow in st. louis, they were obviously tired tonight, so they
need some miracle ingredient to give them energy.

canucks 3 new jersey 2 in a shoot out.
