I'm still waiting for Ryan to score a goal. He's been contributing in other ways when he isn't being a simpleton about hits, but he needs to score a goal as does Booth. If either of those two can score in this next game it will really spark the rest of the team. I'm really thankful that Henrik has Daniel back, it is great to see the magic those two create on the ice.
The Coyotes just won in OT.
I sure hope so, JLM.......it would be great to think about their goalies shaking in their skates, though I doubt that would happen a bit of fear wouldn't be a bad thing - keep them off balance a bit, you know. LOL!

I'm still a bit concerned that canucks are allowing far too many shots against, they have to do
better on their forecheck, and cut that number down.
Their first period last night was horrid, took them a long time to get a hold on that game.
If the power play continues to 'work', then l.a. will not be so aggressive, they will be careful
about getting penalties.
l.a. hit two goalposts last night, and canucks got one goal from a redirect from an l.a. player.
canucks must be more powerful, and take the 'game' for themselves, and run with it, last
nights game could easily have been a loss, it was that close.
Canucks are a faster team than l.a., but they haven't been taking advantage of that speed, and
it makes l.a. look just as fast, and they're not.
I'm afraid booth and kesler have been a dissapointment, although in the third game, I thought
booth was skating well and checking well, but 'no' offense.
Those two players have so much offensive ability, but they have no chemistry with each other,
it is hard for vineault to find the right match for booth, and kesler, i'm thinking that next
season booth will most likely find his niche on the team, and become more producive.
I'm just accepting kesler like I did a few years ago, good two way player, and good on the power
play in front of the goalie, but after that he doesn't have much vision on the ice.
For burrows to have good offense he must play with the twins, and on a power play, but he is such
a good penalty killer, he can't do everything, or his ice time runs up too high.
Higgins has also run dry, he is skating well but not accomplishing anything.
I felt sorry for raymond, as kopitar made him look silly, raymond's great speed
gave him position on kopitar, but instead of just taking the puck, he tried to
bodycheck him, and kopitar just zigged when raymond zagged, and was gone, vineault
will not be impressed by that blunder at all, as vineault will forgive him for
offensive disabilities, but not defensive mistakes, so he has just put himself
in his coaches bad books.
Hopefully on Sunday they step it up another notch as, the way they played last night is no guarantee
of dominance over l.a. at all, a few lucky bounces for either team can win the game, canucks must
play beyond those chances, and show l.a. who is really the better team.
One game at a time, one shift at a time, five minutes at a time.
good game for phoenix, although that chicago bunch scored again right near the end of reg. time to tie it up, but phoenix scored the OT winner.
washington defeated boston, good for them, not a fan of either team, but would pick
washington over boston.
good for n. jersey for winning tonight, brodeur got a shut out, that must be a zillion for him now.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - The Vancouver Canucks will have a new second line Sunday when they attempt to stay alive in the Stanley Cup playoffs against the Los Angeles Kings.
Alex Burrows, Ryan Kesler and Max Lapierre - dubbed by one pundit as the Three Mouthketeers because of their outspoken ways on the ice - want their actions to speak louder than words in Game 5 of the Western Conference quarterfinal series.
"It's in the back of our minds," Kesler said. "We have to keep our emotions in check and just play between the whistles. When all three of us do it, we're pretty effective. I've had years of practice (keeping quiet.) Sometimes it slips out, but I'm good at keeping my emotions in check."
The Canucks, down 3-1 in the best-of-seven series, face another must-win situation after beating the Kings 3-1 in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. Vancouver, first overall in the NHL for the second straight season, is attempting to become the fourth team in Stanley Cup history - 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs, 1975 New York Islanders and 2010 Philadelphia Flyers - to rally from a 3-0 deficit.
"It's a little different," Burrows said about the new line combination. "But at the same time, we're in a tough spot right now. We're trying to do whatever's best for the team. Whatever the coaching staff feels is right to do, we're more than willing to do it."
Coach Alain Vigneault put Kesler, Burrows and Lapierre together in Game 4 after the Canucks trailed 1-0 after the first period.
Lapierre has served mainly as a third and fourth-liner since being acquired from the Anaheim Ducks at the trade deadline last season. But he has played more of a top-six forward role recently, subbing for Daniel Sedin on the top line while he was out with a concussion.
Before arriving in Vancouver, Lapierre had a reputation as a yapper. But Vigneault said the coaching staff has made it clear that he needs to zip his lip.
"He's been told to shut up and play," Vigneault said. "That's what we expect of him."
Kesler and Burrows played together early in their careers. However, Burrows was moved to the first line a few seasons ago after he played well alongside the Sedin twins.
"Playing with (Kesler) and watching him for the last seven, eight years, you know what he's good at," Burrows said. "You know once the puck's through that neutral zone he wants to skate with it and he wants to make plays and shoot it. He's a great player, and we'll try to have one of our best games."
Burrows said the line will try to take advantage of Kesler and Lapierre's speed and ability to get in on the forecheck.
"As a line, we can create offensively, played solid defensively and we're going to try to create some turnovers," Burrows said. "The most important thing is to win the game."
Lapierre said Burrows and Kesler bring a lot of skill to the unit. He will just try to create room for them by being physical so that they can put the puck in the net.
"We just have to keep things simple," Lapierre said. "If we get on the forecheck and traffic in front of the goalie, I think we're going to create a lot of chances."
The Canucks want to remain disciplined after getting into penalty trouble earlier in the series. As a result, said Lapierre, the club needs to keep the chirping to a minimum.
"Our role has not always been to go out there and talk," Lapierre said. "Our role is to go out there and be physical and play the right way. That's all we're focusing on."
The creation of the new unit comes as Vigneault continues to try to generate more offense. The playoffs are usually a time for unsung heroes, but the Canucks have not found any.
"At this point, we need guys to become key, clutch performers," Vigneault said. "We got that from Schneids (goalie Cory Schneider) last game and got it from a couple of other guys. If we want our season to continue, we're going to need more guys doing that also."
Vigneault confirmed Schneider will make his third straight start in goal.

Nothing for me has changed since my first statement at the beginning of playoffs, 'any team' can win,
and I still couldn't begin to be reasonably certain what two teams will go thru, and for sure, don't
know what team will win the cup. Nothing about these playoffs has given me any hints at all.
I mentioned the parity in the league, and I haven't changed my views, and I have been supported by many
of the so called expert opinions connected with the sports networks and also the teams.
The difference between 1 and 8 is miniscule, and once the long regular season is over, and the tiny
season starts, everyone is side by side at the starting gate.

What a pathetic effort by a bunch of overpaid bums. These guys were not the team
they pretended to be. They would not have beaten the Flyers, penguins or Boston.
Canucks need people who can fight, and bump and grind never mind this European

league is still going to take the rough stuff out of the game, sure they are, they got

We have to agree to disagree here. Passing and shooting are the two main integral parts of hockey. Did you ever see Wayne Gretzky mugging guys? Canucks played a high spirited game tonight. The first two penalties I thought were very questionable.
yeah, the officiating is terrible, the NHL must do something to bring the quality up to snuff, as right
now they can't keep up with the game, they miss lots of things in the game, then they will call some
nit picky little penalty that could have been ignored, it is pathetic.
I agree with JLM those first two penalties were almost nothing, but it didn't have any impact on the
game, so no harm done, but that isn't always the case.
To me Wayne was a wimp. Gordie Howe knew how to take care of himself so did
Bobby Orr. We entered an era when the superstars got special treatment and
that was the end of real North American hockey. It became this whining European
stuff, where there is rarely a fight.
Ratings went through the roof when fans realized the old rock em sock em days were
perhaps back. I for one quit watching hockey for a long time but this year I came back
to the game for a try, it is not too bad but its not the same.
