Canucks fought back from a 2 - 1 deficit with goals from Higgins, Hodgson, and Burrows.
Schneider made some good saves including a penalty shot

couldn 't watch the game last evening, was at my daughter's thanksgiving dinner, caught the scores
thru out the game, was relieved when they came back to win.
my daughter does not have a tv in her house, her choice, she doesn't want one.
her son watches hockey on the computer, but it hasn't worked very well recently,
but he managed to update the game from time to time.

yeah, cory schneider in goal, that was what I was waiting to see. wondered who they would play
last night, glad they made that choice.

hodson is doing just fine, seeing he has no help from either winger. when kesler gets back they will
do a bit of shuffling, maybe hodson will be on the wing then, and one of those wingers will be in the
press box.

Wednesday in philly, guess luongo will play that one, hope he plays better.

schneider did let one easy one in, but the rest of his game was stellar, even though the team did not
play particularly well till the last period, he kept them in it, and gave them the chance they needed
to score a couple and win the game.

Rather disappointed in the outcome of last night's game. Thought Roberto could have been somewhat stronger in the net but then he didn't get much help at times as the guys were all over the ice instead of in front of the net. Glad to see that the Flyers made up for all those penalties the Canucks took early in the game with a few dumb ones of their own.

Did enjoy the one goal that the Sedins set up and took - shades of last years stellar play for the two of them. Will be really glad when Ryan finally makes it back- am hoping that his contributions can be a impetus for the rest of the team.

Hope Corey is back in goal for the next game.

I'd send Luongo packing at any cost. If it meant a lump payout I'd raise capital in the equity markets just to get him off the team. He's the worst goalie in the league. I can't stand watching the Canucks play any more with him in net.

Think they need to send the Twins and Luongo packing. I think last year was their peak, and they'll never perform any better with this organization.

The twins have been the best players on the team from game one, they are accumulating their points as
usual.
It hurts the team when they are killing penalties, as the twins don't get their usual shifts.

I agree with you about the level of his play, and I think if we are just a bit more patient he will make
his way out, i'm hoping at this point that he doesn't play good at all, because then they will figure he
is getting his form back.
It is nerve racking to watch the play in our end, I'm on pins and needles every time the puck is shot
his way, so if we feel that way, the coaching/mgr staff must feel it too.
He's like a deer in the headlights.

But I have to say that the defense on 'both' teams last night was horrendous, game was very sloppy on both
sides much of the night.

Too many penalties, BUT I was very irritated with the first two calls, as I did not see any infraction by
a canuck in either one of them, but in the last period philly was called for lots of penalties too, a couple
which I didn't see any infraction either, so I guess it evened out, BUT those two penalties right at the
beginning of the game throw a team out of sinc, the rythym goes, the twins don't get ice time, and on top
of it, two goals were scored, which puts them behind right at the offset.

canuck @ detroit today

Kesler has been practicing with the team for about a week now, they sure need him on that second line, cody
hodgson is playing great, with no help, but I like the switching around vineault did with that line last
night, hope it continues.

I hope Schneider plays tonight too, he supplied that 'help' I was talking about
last time he played and gave his team a chance, and they took it, and won.

The team might be a bit fatigued on the back end of a back to back, on the road, hope they can hold their own against
this good detroit team.
Canucks are a good team too, still feeling their way along at beginning of the season, but a little help
from their (suppose to be #1) goalie could have made a difference.

They're really good, at one aspect of the game. Which makes them a liability in playoff hockey. As long as the game goes along so that they can play 'their game', they are great. But, as we saw last year, the other teams don't necessarily decide to let them play 'their game'.

Similarly, Luongo is stupendous, except when he's horrible. He's an awesome goalie, except when he's a horrible goalie. If there was a way to predict which one he'd be, you could at least schedule him.

I think the twins are good at all of the game, and if the canucks had a few more like them they would be
unbeatable.

The power play is what 'lost' the playoffs, check the stats. Yes, they are part of the power play, but
certainly not alone, they can't be expected to carry the team on their backs.

If Luongo had of carried his load in the playoffs, canucks would have won them in five or six games.

Boston doesn't have super stars at all, (except thomas), and he won the playoffs for them.

Very good first period tonight against detroit, both goalies played excellent, but howard played a bit
better than schneider overall.

Canucks couldn't muster up 'even' one goal, burrows hit a goal post, and hodgson scored but it was about
1/10 of a second after period ended, so a little unlucky there.

The second line with higgins/hodgson/hanson is very good, hope that stays together at least till kesler
returns, then they have other choices.

I heard kesler might be playing Tuesday, but no confirmation on that.

Detroit started a bit slow tonight, they hadn't played since saturday, and canucks were playing back to
back, that showed with detroit a little slow in the first period, and canucks with lots of jump. Canucks
needed a couple of goals in the first period before detroit remembered how they really play.

I'm not worried about the team, they are feeling their way along early in the season, and kesler will make
a real difference on his return, just glad schneider played, made me feel a lot better when the puck
was in our end, felt more confident that our goalie would stop the shots.

CANUCKS @ EDMONTON sat. 7 p.m.

Luongo is in goal, if any of you are praying people, I suggest you get started now.

I'll just expect the worst, and if he plays good, I will be pleasantly surprised.

The game is currently tied at three.
Luongo has made some good saves.
Any fault for the three goals that have gone in can probably be shared with the defense
I would say that Edmonton has to some extent outworked the Canucks. The three
Canucks who scored Vancouver's goals were Salo,Sedin, and Burrows.

Vancouver 4, Edmonton 3
Salo got his second goal of the game to win the game for Vancouver.
The team needs Kesler back.

canucks slowly took over the game, edmonton, with those fast young and talented players were zipping
all over the place in the first half of the game.
That goal by burrows in the dying seconds of the second period was definitely a picker upper for them.
The canucks played excellent defensive hockey in the last period, getting their chances when they came,
but didn't push the offense and made sure edmonton didn't get any 'dangerous' chances.
A little hairy with the goalie pulled, but canucks still kept the upper hand, and won the game.

I thought luongo was OK, but there were still many occasions where he batted out too many rebounds, and
also fell on his stomach for no apparant reason.

I still feel he is far too tense and worried, but maybe with this win under his belt he will relax a bit
and make saves that look more professional.

Canucks needed this win desperately, they played 500 on this road trip, not too bad, keeps them in a
position to stay positive, stay away from getting in the dog house with the fans.

Rangers I think, at g.m. place on tuesday.
I heard that kesler might play that game, but nothing confirmed.

I sure would like that Nugent-Hopkins kid on our team!

yep, he's going to be a good one, along with taylor hall, eberly too, and a couple of others.
A team has to have a good
run 'at sucking' in the league for a few years to be able to draft that high, sure don't want that
in vancouver.
And, I don't think he got a hat trick at all, it looks to me like taylor hall was
the last one to touch the puck.

ryan kesler will be back tonight. the line will be - kesler/hodgson/higgins
hodgson will move to right wing to allow kesler back into the center position

sturm is right where he should be - in the press box

tanev has gone to chicago wolves for awhile, he had a bit of a tough start, and vineault wants him
to play 'lots' so they want him in chicago where he will be top defenceman and get lots of ice time.
sounds reasonable to me.

don't who is in goal tonight, I don't want to talk about it anyway. lol

fabulous clinic put on by henrik lundquist, he was a wall in front of that goal tonight.

not much to say about the rest of the game.

Luongo- in no way can he match that goalie at the other end, and he finally let in a few, on very few shots.
Luong isn't a very good goalie right now, but the story was lundquist.

Canucks played poorly in the last period as a team, defense went to sleep, and of course they were 'cheating'
in their own end, to try to score goals.

In stead of jeering luongo, canuck fans should have given lundquist a standing ovation in respect of his
marvelous display of goalkeeping.

Cory Schneider could have played tonight, and maybe canucks would have lost about 1 or 2 nothing, still a
loss, the story was at 'THE OTHER END OF THE ICE.'

can't really criticize canucks for 'NOT' scoring, lunquist was the difference.

ok, on they go, nashville is next.
