It's almost over. Maybe if you guys shelved that overpaid underachieving goalie.

You mean the false god?

yeah they sure did deserve to win. all 3 goals for chicago were gifts. two giveaways by schneider, and the 3rd was that slighty 'overkill' check from hamhuis, don't know why he had to flip the guy over, could have just held him up a bit, and let schneider make the save or not, then it would only have been a penalty, not a penalty shot.

As you have pointed out previously, talloola - these guys are only human so I put the humhuis check down to nerves or just wanting to make a difference - he did, but not the way he planned too.

the chicago coaching staff and players know as we speak they fell into a bucket of 'slop' and came out smelling like a rose tonight.

You could see the frustration on the faces of Kane, Toews and Sharp - it was almost palpable. Toews got so upset he smacked his stick against the glass twice that I saw.

I feel sorry for the guys, they played great. Its kind of funny, games 4 and 5 were lost because the skaters were 'feeble', goalie was good, this game was lost because of the goalie, and the team was tops, schneider made some great stops, but the mistakes were rookie mistakes, and he will learn from them for sure, but they sure cost the team tonight.

They did play a great game. Much more defensive play in this game. Great to see the Sedins get so much ice time - one of the things that the Cannucks really needed to do. As for Corey, it's funny - well not funny ha, ha - but just before the second Hawk goal when Corey was once again behind the net - I stood up and yelled at him to get back - too late, the goal was good. Poor kid, just lack of experience and he will learn from it.

I really like the changes vineault made with the lines, hope he leaves them like that.

Agree with you completely about the line changes - really mixed up the game and had the Hawks trying to keep up.

If we play same next game, without the goalie slip-ups, (luongo would not have done those giveaways), we will win game 7. Chicago couldn't match our team tonight, we had to give them the goals, for them to get the win, so thats the way I see it.

I fee exactly the same way, tallola. The Cannucks were fabulous on the penatly killing - especially when they found themselves facing a 5 on 3. The Hawks couldn't get a goal to save their lives on the PP. Whereas the Cannucks goals showed some thought and patience, most especially the one by Burrows - great goal.

It was a really great game to watch, including the O.T. Lot's of great passing and puck stealing. The Cannucks were able to turn the Hawks back time and again. I believe you are absolutely right about the winning the series tomorrow night - if they come out with the same energy and dedication they did in last night's game.

GO, CANNUCKS, GO.

the whiners are allready trying to run luongo out of town, but nothing about schneider's two
bad plays, or the hamhuis penalty shot 'penalty'.

and lots of conspiracy theory whining too, can you believe it, its funny how the canuck fans
only see 'their' penalties, does anyone remember when hamhuis rammed boland's head into the
glass? no call.
but I do see where the canucks are being 'picked' on a little too much, so lets
see if, one tuesday, they see that, and try to be a little more balanced.
that slash by boland was vicious, looked like someone trying to chop a log in half.
how that is missed I'll never know, right in front of the goal where all is watching.

it seems schneider's injury isn't serious, cramps, and he will be ready to go on tuesday, don't
know if he is starting or not, he did make some great stops, and if they do play him, i'm sure
he won't repeat those two 'ugly' giveaways, he won't forget those for awhile.

Unless he's injured, I think they HAVE to play Luongo on Tuesday..........winning the series is very important but you can't put it ahead of your loyal players (and Luongo has been loyal and hard working) The man has feelings and if they did play Schneider and lost, management would have egg all over their face (Luongo was hired to play the big games) It's not like Schneider was spectacular last night.

If he plays I hope he doesn't play face down on the ice.

I totally agree JLM, he is the 'man', he has played awsome for the team, and he was their leader
and best player in the first three games of the playoffs.
How quickly many forget that, those first three games were no runaways for canucks,
and luongo kept them in it at times, made the big saves, and was their mvp in
those games.
in game four and five he was riddled with shots from 'crucial areas' of the ice,
great scoring areas, as the skaters allowed players to skate right into shooting
zones and fire away on luongo, and I don't forget that, and I won't let myself
put on the blinders and forget that.
After those games he was such a 'professional' when interviewed, he had just been
bombarded with quality scoring shots, and answered all the questions with a gracious
and mature attitude.

Yes, play luongo he is the man, win or lose.

They are going to start him tomorrow, and they should start him, this is their biggest game this
season, and to sit him would be insanity.

They didn't play schneider in the last game because luongo was not playing well, they did it to shake
the team up, give them a different feeling, create some energy, it was gutsy of vineault to do that,
and almost worked, but schneider did 'hiccup' a couple of times, and it was very costly.

So your saying that in the last three games Luongo was playing well? Because from my vantage point he sucked pretty big.

He only played a little last game.

It is easy to say a goalie sucks when he has had that many goals go by him.

What I said is that he did the best he could under the circumstances, no goalie who has let in
that many goals over a two game period can say he played good, but that is not the point, he also
doesn't have to be the fall guy for all the players who 'sucked' big time, and if that is only what you saw, then you weren't
watching how the game was played, the skaters were awful in game 4 and 5, and he
was only a small part of that awful play, one must go back and watch each of those
goals, and break down how they were scored, then make an evaluation.

of course if you expect him to stop anything and everything and win the game when the team
is playing awful, steal the game, then that is what you want, I don't expect that, but he has
done that from time to time.

I don't like the winning goal in game 6, but I also didn't like any of the goals in game 6, and
if the starting goalie had played his part 'well', luongo would not have had to play at all, the
game would have been over in regulation time.

Schneider is a true back-up goalie this year, he prepares each and every game in that manner, but
luongo is not a back up, and he sat in that dressing room, (no room on the bench), all through
the game and into overtime, and all of a sudden he had to play, that is foreign to him, and it
showed, he struggled with every save, and finally in went the winner, and he didn't look good
on that play.
In hind sight, luongo should have played that game, 20/20 hindsight, so easy.

Too bad things happened that way, but it did and its history now, so they move on and try again.

Would someone please tell me what 'derp' means? Read it here a few times but have no idea what it refers to.

I see that once again we have back to back games for the Habs and Cannucks tonight - darn it all anyway - can't they spread my viewing pleasure over two days!!! Ah well, might as well get all the elation out of the way on one night.

I agree with JLM and talloola, Lu has to play and am glad he is in for tonight. He got them this far and he is their star goalie. Win or lose, it is Lu they must go with - I think he will surprise all the naysayers - just as he did during the regular season.

GO, CANNUCKS, GO! :canada:

I have no idea what derp means, but seems like it is catching on, and might become the cool word
of the future. lol

Not much to derp about that game, except the goalie who twice herped the derp.

Corduroy, could you please tell me what `derp`and `herp` mean. Talloola thinks it might be a hiccup but I still don`t get the connotation.
