our first game of this road trip is in toronto on Sat.
night, and it is part of the 'hockey day in canada',
celebration.

Do you think Ron MacClean will interview Burrows??

no, I believe it is over as far as canucks and CBC are
concerned. They had a conference call today between head
of CBC and Gillis, and settled matters, they wouldn't reveal
what was said, but Gillis apparantly wanted assurance that
his team would be treated fairly from now on, and no more
interviews like 'that' one again, and was told that would
be the way it is. No McLean there at all. It is hockey
day in Canada saturday, and CBC and Gillis wanted to clear
all of this mess up before canucks arrive there, BUT that
doesn't stop Toronto media from yapping their mouths off
when canucks arrive on Friday for game on Saturday.

OK, home stand is over, and they did great, won again tonight over st. louis, and they are off now, on an 8 game
road trip, first in toronto, then montreal, then ottawa.

Mason Raymond had a good game 2 goals, and first star.

St. Louis is always tough to play.

sedin line shut out tonight, but that's OK, it's good
to spread the scoring around.

And even more beautiful, Flames got extinguished again. The two worst teams in the league right now are in Alberta..

Who would have thought that what 2/ 3 weeks ago Calgary was atop of our division. Now they are only 3 points off being 4th.

Calgary's last 10 - 1-7-2 (last win was 9 games ago)
Canucks - 7-2-1

I can taste the tears from here.

I see Ovetchkin got three points last night so he has moved to three points back of H.Sedin. As you said Talloola, Heinrich is going to have to consistently get a couple points a game to match what Ovetchkin is getting. It's good that the other lines scored last night. It may take some of the attention off the first line.

This is supposed to be a team sport, individuals points are secondary.

Yes. Hockey, more than any other is a team sport. Some time ago I suggested that H. Sedin might win the scoring race, or the Ross Trophy. It will likely be a battle between Sedin and Ovetchkin.

It shows that the team has some good depth now, and we can
look to others for goals, and opposition defence will be
checking our top line more closely now that they are so
well known all over the league, so that will leave a little
more space for the second and third lines.

I like our third line in the last two games, demitra and
wellwood are clicking, and it seems since demitra has been
back, wellwood's got a spark in his play, and we are seeing
a little of what we saw from him last season, hope it keeps
up.

It's nice to make the other coach have to worry about 'what'
defencemen he needs to play against 'what' lines, and not
just think about the sedin line as the dangerous one.

I'm sure they thought about it but it would've been interesting to see them play some home games in Seattle. Could've been a helluva way to market themselves across the line.

That would be interesting, but Bettman doesn't want to have
anything to do with Seattle, so that would stop that idea,
and also they probably don't have a building that would
hold enough people, or is up to NHL standard, ice size,
etc.
Seattle has been 'strange' in my opinion, I would have thought that city would campaign heavily for an NHL team,
but never have been interested, can't understand why, it's
a perfect location, as it would tie all of the coast teams
together, and be part of a great division of the NHL.

I would think Vancouver fans would bitch like hell about Canucks home games being played in another city. It wouldn't bother me but I would rather see a team in Hamilton before Seatle.

Yeah, or Winnipeg. I was transferred to Winnipeg in 1972 and I saw the original Jets and Bobby Hull before I came back in 1974.

I was very sad when the nhl pulled out of winnipeg, and very
angry that the city didn't pull together and make sure they
stayed.
It joined the country together with a team there, now there
is that big split between west and east.

I could see Seattle with a team before Winnipeg or QC... all three had WHA teams but Winnipeg and QC just don't have the population base to support a modern NHL team. Hamilton has enough surrounding population to do it but the 'Peg and QC... I just can't see it.

I can't see it either, but Seattle has never shown any interest, for many years, which I can't understand, because
they are situated in a perfect area, and have the population.
