I do believe that I said you didn't have to eat a shirt. However, a hat is being sent to you as I type this. It is strawberry-flavoured.;-)

That's odd, you told me to eat shirt!! (or something like that)

Sure! Just take away the letter 'r' and you'll know what I said!;-):p:lol:

In all seriousness, once it was 2-0 I had the feeling that Luongo was going to get a shutout.

We'll see how Calgary does against San Jose tonight, although San Jose has lots of
injured players including Marleau, so not sure just how strong they will be.
If Calgary lose tonight, and we win tomorrow in Minny, we will be on top of the
north west division. It's a long way to that point, lots of skating and shooting must
be done before then.
I will be pulled in different directions tomorrow against minnesota, as I would like
to see them make the playoffs, as they are one of my favourite teams, but of
course I want canucks to win too, so can't have everything, maybe we can win
in overtime, then minny will get a point, but they are really in a tough spot now,
as it will hard to knock nashville and anaheim out of 7th and 8th., but it can be
done, not impossible.

At the moment, Anaheim is in 9th(St. Louis is one point ahead of them for 8th) but I think they will fade. Even if Anaheim somehow made it into the playoffs, they would get smoked in the first round(Detroit or San Jose). Minnesota's only 3 points out, and Gaborik has been on fire since coming back(at least he's well rested;-)). I want Vancouver to get every point possible, as the West is very tight right now and even a single point given up to a potential opponent for a playoff slot can be disastrous.

Calgary should beat San Jose, just due to the massive amounts of injuries the Sharks have right now. The Sharks are already in the playoffs so they may take it a little easy tonight. But, you can never tell.

Would love to see anaheim slip out of playoffs, and minnesota get in, or anybody other
than anaheim.

I think you're right talloola. Ducks can be tough, but then Minnesota in the past had a good record against the Canucks.

Yeah, ducks are playing quite well right now, but I 'just' don't like them,
that's my gripe, I like minnesota, would like gaborik to get more playing
time, he lost so much time this season, he needs to keep playing, and I
also wonder where he will be next year, he is unrestricted on July 1.

For the Canucks…

After reaching the 30-goal mark for the second time in his NHL career on Sunday, Daniel Sedin looks to bring his hot hand into tonight’s divisional match-up as he tries to score a goal in his third consecutive game. The 28-year old, whose other 30-plus goal season came in 2006.07 when he netted 36 markers, reached the milestone in style by recording his first two-goal game since December 22nd against the Anaheim Ducks. His three-point game on Sunday (2-1-3) was also his first since January 2nd in Atlanta. In addition to goals in two straight games, the 6’1”, 185 lbs. left winger has also posted points in four consecutive games (4-4-8) over the past week earning him the NHL’s Second Star of the Week honours.

With just seven games remaining in the regular season, the Ornskoldsvik, Sweden native still has some work to do if he hopes to make this season a career-year. He is six goals and eight points overall shy of matching his career-high totals both set back in 2006.07. He’ll have a chance to make up some ground against a team he’s feasted on over the years. In 47 career games against the Wild, Daniel has recorded 31 points (11-20-31) and 20 penalty minutes. He also has three career game-winning goals against the Wild, one of which came earlier this season on November 20th at the

For the Wild…

One can only wonder where the Wild might be in the standings today if they had Marian Gaborik’s services for the entire 2008.09 season. The 27-year old sniper, who had a career-high 42 goals and 83 points last season, has missed a total of 65 games this season with groin and hip problems. The impending unrestricted free agent, who was Minnesota’s first choice (3rd overall) in 2000, has provided an immediate boost for the Wild since his most recent return to the lineup netting seven points (4-3-7) in the five games since his comeback. The 6’1”, 199 lbs. right winger notched the game-winning goal and added an assist in Minnesota’s 4-2 win over Edmonton on Sunday night.

A noted Canuck killer over the course of his career, the Trencin, Slovakia native will be playing in just his first game against the Canucks this season after missing all five of the previous meetings with injury. Last season, he led his team in goals against the Canucks with four and finished second on the team behind Pierre-Marc Bouchard in points versus Vancouver with seven. In 35 career games against the Canucks, Gaborik has amassed 30 points (17-13-30) and 30 penalty minutes.
This game tonight is probably the game that will put minnesota out of the
playoffs for the season, or keep them hanging on by a thread. They will play their hearts
out tonight to stay in, lamaire will probably play gaborik about 30 minutes.
Canucks can put themselves in the lead in our division with a win, so they
will play their hearts out to do that.

Should be a good game.

Wherever he goes I am sure there will be a lot of conditions attached to his contract(due to his problems remaining healthy).

Calgary is in a tailspin. If they were about to start the playoffs I would figure them to be punted in the first round.

The surgery that gaborik had last year, completely healed his 'one' side, and he
did not have any further problems with that hip/groin, and the surgery he had
this season is the exact same surgery, only on the other side, so I feel good
'for' him, as now maybe he can get on with his career, which could be fabulous,
and not worry about that particular problem again.
I would love to have him on the canucks, but he will probably go to a team
who is way under the cap. We could sign him if sundin doesn't play again,
and I would trade them with each other any time.
Gaborik is playing great, took him one period to get his timing and then he
took off, and hasn't looked back.
We have a good defense, so we should be able to hold him down a little, and
I think our third line will be out against his line, so hopefully they can do the
job.

Yeah, I watched calgary and san jose last night, and calgary looks very
ordinary.

Any team that is interested in Gaborik will not take into effect how he may feel in the future. They just can't afford to do that(especially in the era of the cap). They will use his time in the NHL so far as a gauge to how much they will offer him. That being said, there is usually a GM that will overpay no matter the potential downside to a player(the goaltender signed to a 15 year contract by the New York Islanders comes to mind;-)).

I haven't followed Minnesota in a coon's age or Gaborik's injuries, just know he used to be deadly against the Canucks so chose not to like him too much- nothing personal........:lol::lol:

Good win for canucks tonight, we are now division leaders. typical minnesota game, like playing chess in the first period, then a little more action, and good
for canucks, outplayed minnesota at their own game by being so patient, and
not much offense at all, just waiting for chances, and we got it 4 minutes into
overtime, we were badly outshot, but I don't think they played the game to outshoot
minny, just to outwait them.
Minnesota is sinking fast, just one point, but with edmonton playing anaheim,
whatever team wins, it is bad for minnesota, and more so if it is a 3 point game.

We come home now, and play anaheim, then off to edmonton.

It breaks my heart to see the Shames nose dive before the playoffs. I personally would love to see the Hawks and the Jackets pass them so we can have a Nucks/Shames first round matchup
