Vancouver was the better team tonight and if it wasn't for the talent of Niemi would have won handily.

I think the Detroit series has slowed SJ down a step-that doesn't mean the series will be easy though-Vancouver has to play @ the top of their game as much as possible in order to win and in the past......

I liked how AV kept throwing the Sedins into the action and they finally clicked-Hendrik is still injured though I saw him grimacing a few times.

SJ has been in a 3rd period slumping trend for a while. But that is when the opposition has been in full throttle. The Canucks have to give it, SJ is too talented to let off the hook. Next game will be a tough one.

I think this rest has done wonders for henrik, he seemed so much more upbeat and energetic tonight,
although obviously still not 100%

Sedins had a very good game, nice to be rid of nashville, and give them a bit of room to skate,
and make plays, but san jose won't be happy with their game and canucks have to be ready for the
big push coming their way next game.

the third line was awsome, lapierre, torres and hansen

the team played well, looked prepared and confident.

see ya all wednesday, show up with your game faces on, and be ready for puck drop.
my new canuck shirt gets hung up, won't come out till wednesday, along with my flag, i'll
be well rested and ready to rock.

The team needs us sharp and ready to play. lol

Do you remember when Vignault was laughing with Henrik Sedin in the 3rd? After the game Sedin was asked about it but he wouldn't say what they talked about. Here's the scoop.

"You know, they're always thinking," Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault said, breaking into a smile. "Tonight, when we got caught out there without a centre (to take an important faceoff) at the end there and I called timeout, Hank turned and looked at me on the bench.

"He said, 'Let me switch sweaters with Danny.'"

Yeah, Cannucks..........way to go boys! So happy for Henrik, seeing him get back into action is a real boost for fans. Seems that both goalies were in a charitable mood last night. Niemi could have stopped that first goal by the Cannucks but he too was caught unprepared - he is a monster though as was evidenced by that furious scrum around the net in the 3rd.

Great game. Exciting all the way through.

GO, CANNUCKS, GO!

yeah, we were wondering at the time what he had said too, heard it later as well, thats funny.
nice to see that kind of looseness on the bench, they are a close knit group, for sure.

Looks to me like Vancouver has way more depth.

canucks have more depth on defense, but not with the forwards, seems that san jose
got a bit tired and couldn't keep pace, we'll see if that is from general fatigue or from
their last bout of 7 games.

After 3 days rest now, they should look more energetic next game, they had nothing left in the
third period, but I also saw 'that' a couple of times in the detroit series, hence detroit came
from behind to win those games.

If canucks give an inch san jose will be all over them, they have some super star forwards.

each goalie gave up a soft goal, but played solid otherwise.

Talloola, I just read in the National Post that there is a good possibility the Atlanta Thrashers may be moving to Winnipeg. What would you think about this move. Seems like the Coyotes got some breathing room with an infusion of 25 mil from the city of Phoenix, so they won't be coming north. Would love to see another team in Canada but don't know much about the Thrashers at all.

yes, I just heard this news as we were having our lunch today. It is not confirmed, but the scheduling
is being done up, and they have made up a schedule for the thrashers as they are now, and also for a
team that would be playing out of winnipeg, so this move is in the works, but no confirmation at this
time.
Thrashers have a good team, they have a few players from last years chicago black hawks, stanley cup
winners, and they had a very good first half of the season, then tailed off a bit, they also have evander
kane, a great young player, who was their first round draft pick two years ago, so that team in
winnipeg would be welcome.

they apparantly will play in the east for the first season, because of this scheduling, but the year
after that they probably would be moved to the west, as the old winnipeg was, and I hear that nashville
will be moved to the east, and thats good because I was worried that they would take detroit out of
our western conference, and that would leave us with only 'one' team from the original six, and I
love having detroit in our conference.
Exciting, love the move, hope it happens.

Yes, I was reading that the 2012 schedule will be announced during the Stanley Cup, so we won't have to wait long to get the news though I hope it comes before that. From what I have read in the Winnipeg papers, fans and the city are working hard to get a team back in Manitoba - for their sake and for hockey fans in Canada, I truly hope this comes to pass.

The only question I am left with is what they will call the team. Will Winnipeg have the chance to change it from the Thrashers? I don't know how these things work but would like to see the team have a different name.

P.S. I thought last night's game was outstanding. Exciting from start to finish - well except for the one little boo-boo by Lu, but he got it out of his system early and I doubt we'll see him have another give-away. I was so glad for fans that Henrik came to the fore last night - maybe now all the Sedin bashing will die down. Great game and so looking forward to the next.

GO, CANNUCKS, GO!

maybe the 'jets' again, like the old team, don't think it will be the thrashers, hope not.

I was thinking that if they were to change one letter they could call themselves the Threshers - what with all those grain fields in Manitoba.
