yeah, everything is decided after the 'what ifs' are done, but what teams are doing 'now' is
relevent now.

That's true. Calgary plays the Thrashers tonight. Might be a good time for Calgary to win a couple

yeah, kesler was hooked and interferred with many times, no calls, if you watched his interview
he hinted around about that, but would not elaborate, didn't want to be fined.

I didn't see the interview but I did watch the game and it seemed like the Flames put a checker on
Kesler who was like his shadow the whole game.

the refereeing this year is horrible, the worst i've seen in years, all over the NHL, not just
canuck games.

I've read that the NHL is trying to cut down the number of penalties but some of the non-calls
are ridiculous. Sort of on the same topic.....I watched the hit on Sidney Crosby. I thought it was
brutal that there was no call.

Expect a much tougher opponent tomorrow-all to the good.

chicago is a puzzling team this year, (shouldn't be puzzling after all the changes), but they are so
inconsistent, and right now sitting in 8th place.

I think they will rise to the occasion tomorrow night, because of 'who' they are playing, and
canucks just have to continue to play the same as they have most of this season, focused and
intent on one game at a time, total team concept, everyone contributing their best, and they
will be fine, they don't have to be better to beat chicago, chicago have to be better than they
have most of this season to beat canucks, that awful game in vancouver where chicago
trounced canucks, was their wake-up call, chicago did them a favour and made them
take another look at themselves, which has worked quite well.

I see Salo has been sent to manitoba for a 14 game conditioning stint, so we will see him back
in the line-up in two weeks, (hopefully). We do need someone who is equal to Edler in talent, and
he is the only one at the moment with that much skill, even though the call ups are doing just fine,
they aren't 'salo'.

Yep, if the Canucks aren't ready tomorrow night it could be "Waterloo".

yes, I agree about that hit on crosby, BUT believe it or not, some do not.

I see Calgary whupped the Thrashers last night. I haven't yet paid much attention to teams which don't
immediately threaten the Canucks except for Chicago who've done it to us in the last two playoffs. What
I would like is for Vancouver to beat Chicago with a score of maybe six or seven to nothing. just to kind of change their attitude. If Luongo
is having a good game they should be able to beat the Hawks. Vancouver has as much firepower as
much firepower as any team in the league right now.

Yeah, they'll have no problem unless they have one of their stinker nights that every team has 2 or 3 times a season. If it hadn't have been for a few stupid errors, they'd have cleaned Chicago's clock last playoffs- they were clearly the better team a lot of the time.

canucks need to defeat the hawks tonight 'just' to make a statement, and get that previous game off the
books, it was a bad loss, and they need to erase it from the hawks memories, and take a little
confidence away from them.
this should be a good game, two good teams, hawks are healthy now, playing better, so I am looking
forward to the game tonight.
I know canucks will lose a game soon, but hope it isn't tonight.

the calgary game last night could have been anyones game, calgary won it right near the end, then an
empty net goal, not a particular great game at all, but they got the win, that's all they care.
they are still rolling, not sure if they can keep up their present pace, we'll see.

Chicago......Who is Chicago?

Anyway.....The Canucks won a very close game against Chicago tonight 4 - 3.

I think the next game against Chicago will be better in that they won't be playing the "unbeatable" Blackhawks.

Actually, it looks like they are done with Chicago this year (we hope).

I can see why Canucks fans are so happy with their team. They played a helluva game against Chicago tonight. Some of those saves by Luongo were pure magic - what a goalie! Watching the play of the Sedin twins is simply wonderful - they are so attuned to each other. The team was so strong on the powerplay compared to Chicago. Both teams really came to play though and it made the game faced paced and exciting to watch. Glad for all you fans - heck of a team you have there.

'THANK YOU ROBERTO LUONGO'

he played outstanding and gave his team the time they needed to ramp up their game, as the
first period was all chicago.

funny goals, funny calls. but when the dust settled canucks came away with the win.

the canucks did rise to the occasion eventually, and the rest of the game was like playoffs.
very exciting indeed.

this was luongo's game, without his stellar performance we would not have won.

GO CANUCKS GO

Well your hope was fulfilled, tallola. Your team played a great game tonight. I was so glad I was able to see them play a really good team so I could see just how they would handle them - and they did so in great form. Chicago is no slouch of a team. I really like Toews and have followed him since his junior days. I respect him as a player and he makes a great captain. Patrick Kane is no slouch either. I knew the Canucks would have to play well and figured Luongo would be busy - he was, by the way, spectacular in the net tonight. So happy for you and hope they can keep this up.

By the way, Rider fans are feeling a bit low tonight. We lost our Canadian All Star Andy Fantuz to the Chicago Bears - we all wish Andy well in the NFL but he will be sorely missed by all his fans and team members.

Toews and Kane are very special players, I have great respect for both of them, and yes, perfect captain
msterial, toews is called the 'serious captain', he has only one thought in his head, 'win', very focused,
and mentally strong.

Yeah Canucks played very well after they got themselves into the game, first period was a struggle.

Yeah, lions lost a player too to the NFL, forget his name, you probably know who it is.

One teams Bad News is another team's Good News-the decline in Marian Hossa's skills means one less Canuck Killer to worry about.

Couldn't have asked for a better more entertaining match both teams shone but neither was perfect.

yeah, hossa didn't look his usual dangerous self tonight, although he did ring one off of the goal post,
but, that isn't a perfect shot either is it.

chicago has been a bit of a puzzle this season, but they certainly did rise to 'this' occasion, they
are out of a play off spot right now, so I would imagine they will play like they did tonight,
for the rest of the season.
I don't even want to see them 'out' of the playoffs, they are too good to miss the
post season.

On that small point Talloola, we dissagree. I hope they miss the playoffs and I hope last night's win by the
Canucks helps to make them miss the playoffs.

Btw, the officiating in the Chicago/Vancouver game was such a string of missed calls, wrong calls, etc.,that it probably
upset both teams

Let's have a little game, predicting the date the Canucks will clinch a playoff berth. I predict March 16.

yes, sloppy officiating again.

if canucks are going to do well in playoffs, I want them to go thru the best teams,
or else, if they do go thru and win, we won't hear people saying, 'oh well', they
got it easy, didn't have to play 'this one' and 'this one' and 'this one', bring
em on, and lets beat em.

I see your point but that game last night was so close it could have gone either way.
In a way, I see Chicago as a potential trap for the Canucks. The Canucks were treading
on eggs a bit last night so maybe if they do meet Chicago in the playoffs, it won't be such a tight game.
