Jesus, I see Avro is still wining friends with his charisma and magnetic personality.....:roll:

FYI-Willie Mitchel is through.
Last year of his contract he's been repeatedly concussed and is too old to bother with-Sad but True Hockey is a Business not a Charity.
Before you break your arm trying to pat yourself on the back Avro, the Canuck's problem is a team problem, not just a goaltender or a defense problem although if I were in charge I would trade Luongo and all our defense except Salo and Willie Mitchell for four solid defensemen. I would take a chance with the Goalies we have on injured reserve and in the farm system.
....and yet I'm right.
43 years and 0 cups.
What a success story.
If your only guage for success of a team is 'winning' the
cup or not, fine, but canucks have had a very successful
40 years, up and down like majority of teams, a couple of
trips to finals, and a good organization, with good people
at the helm.
I enjoyed the canucks this season, they played a very exciting brand of hockey, and had good success.
Only one team out of 32 can win the cup each year, it isn't
what keeps people in the seats, it is only the prize at
the end, for whomever happens to get there. 1 out of 32.
I do not think of a team as a failure because they didn't
win the cup. Detroit got knocked out tonight by san jose,
but detroit continues to be a good team, and will be back
next year to battle again, they are not failures, just
didn't make it to the finals, big deal.

It's interesting listening to some of the players now, when
they are interviewed, as they still have hopes of pulling
this off, and never give up, but I have lost some enthusiasm
for them as they lost the last two games by their own stupidity and bad behavior, and now they are where they have
put themselves, behind the 8 ball, it would be nice if they
do win this game today and come back to GM place, as maybe
they would give the fans something to be proud of before
they get out their golf clubs, instead of those two poor
games they just played.
Losing is one thing, but acting like a bunch of spoiled brats is another, I can take one but not the other.

You are probably right, but no one knows at this point if
he will or will not be signed, or if he can 'even' play again, he was a very valuable defenseman for the canucks,
but the length of time with this concussion is worrisome.
His contract is up on July 1, he will be an unrestricted
free agent, and nothing was ever discussed between he and
the team about a new contract, the injury cancelled that
possibility.
You sound like every Leaf fan I know.....that's not a compliment.
Detroit has won 3 cups in the last thirteen years....not a good example.
Try again.
A person with half a gram of common sense will pay close attention to Talloola when she talks about N.H.L. hockey, she knows where of she speaks - probably better than Don Cherry.:lol::lol::lol:
I did pay close attention to her, she's wrong.
Saying a franchise is successful when they have a glowing history of failure is beyond silly....it's fanboy talk.
I guess if "failure" is filling every seat at G.M. place for several hundred consecutive games, then I hope they keep on "failing". What is at the end of the road is often not as important as what you see along the way..
I never said they couldn't draw a crowd, I said the team has a history of losing.
The Leafs are good example of this, raise ticket prices and give the fans 43 years of failure yet they still fill the ACC up, the place were dreams go to die.
I'd venture to say over the past 10 years their "losing" percentage is less than .500. Yoo hoo Talloola get over here, I need some stats..........................:lol::lol::lol:

stats for the canucks this year were very good, check them
out. I am satisfied that they had a very successful season,
and the fact that they will not win the cup doesn't come
into it for me, so that depends what you put your importance
on, as I explained before, only 1 out of 32 can win the cup
each year, yet people flock to see most of the teams every
year, so they are not 'all' just going to see their team
win the cup, they love hockey and enjoy watching good
hockey games, it's all about the love of the 'game', not
the love of the cup.
