How did it get from rocks to rockets? A potluck dinner went south?

Simple, your postulation that the Israelis are retaliating against rock throwing children is so much bullshyte. They are retaliating against 1600 fu cking rockets fired at them.

What needs to be done? The Pali's need to kick Hamas in the balls and out. Then the Israelis need to get their act together, close down their settlements and truly help the Pali's to get on their feet. If either one screws up, then they are done and the other get's the whole show.

I think what should help to clear things up Hamas and Palestinians are two different groups

Where did you get that silly idea? That's sound just like the "Jew hater" exclamations towards people who don't care for Israel.

It all had a starting point. What was that?

When did IDF stop killing rock chucking children?

But Israel doesn't want peace. If there were peace they be crushed economically.

So I keep hearing from the anti Israel lobby. If that is the case, in my solution above, the Israeli's lose and the Palestinians win.

So I guess we're all hypocrites - just for different sides. At least when the IDF do something wrong, they are held to account.. You can't say that for Hamas.

And to say that the IDF is completely responsible for all the deaths is disingenuous at best and ignorant as worst. Israel may not be perfect and I doubt anyone who supports them would even state that categorically. Have they made mistakes? Absolutely but what DEMOCRATIC government has not? But, they're a hell of a lot better than the Hamas you so dearly seem to want to stand up for. Why aren't you condemning them EQUALLY?

Talk about hypocracy!

Israel has caused most of the death and destruction that's why. Israel is the reason Hamas was able to get popular support in the first place. That means Hamas doesn't exist without the actions of Israel.

You did but it doesn't matter.

Will this stop with absurd kill ratios or will it just keep on escalating.

No, I said Anti-Israel, the state, not the people. There is a difference.

I guess it depends on Hamas. It was Hamas that started the shooting again after the last cease fire. They, Hamas, really seem to enjoy seeing their people killed.

It take a lot of guts to shoot people who are throwing rocks at you.

Rocks sure have changed a lot since my day.

Hamas - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hamas is particularly popular among Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, though it also has a following in the West Bank, and to a lesser extent in other Middle Eastern countries. Its popularity stems in part from its welfare wing providing social services to Palestinians in the occupied territories. Such services are not generally provided by the Palestinian Authority. Israeli scholar Reuven Paz estimates that 90% of Hamas activities revolve around "social, welfare, cultural, and educational activities". Social services include running relief programs and funding schools, orphanages, mosques, healthcare clinics, soup kitchens, and sports leagues.[56]
