If you noticed the ?, you would have realized it was a question. I was not assuming. I was asking. Are you going to start this again?

mt pockets1000 said

"No, I have a grievance with this country when it refuses to support laws that are entrenched in our constitution and continue to thumb it's nose at my province."
...

in response to my question
...

"You have a grievance with this country because the Prime Minister is willing to meet with people to hear their concerns?"
...

which was asked when mt pockets said...
"You can add this one" to the ever growing list of grievances our province has against this country" ...

I'm just following the bouncing ball and since "this one" is about the location of a border it would seem that that is the issue. If mt pockets feels he/she has been misunderstood, I'm sure he/she is quite capable of letting me know. Perhaps you could add something to the discussion.

My apologies. I have become so accustomed to your abrasive style of trolling, it has become hard to determine genuine question from caustic challenge....

From Wikipedia in response to the question:
"...One of Newfoundland's conditions for joining Confederation in 1949 was that this boundary be entrenched in the Canadian constitution. While this border has not been formally accepted by the Quebec ...."

Thank you LW. Although I was hoping Cannuck would research his deep well of knowledge and provide us with this information himself. Too bad he challenges others to the point where we have to waste a load of time scouring the internet to prove him wrong...once again. It does nothing to help along the debate. I guess it gives him some small pleasure, at least for a short while, to think he/she has lorded it over on someone once again. Anyway, I digress....

Danny Williams was a successful lawyer before he became premier. He realizes full well the Canadian Constitution and how the Newfoundland Act is tied it. The Newfoundland Act of March 23rd, 1948 lays out the terms of the union of our province with Canada and it states:

TERMS OF UNION

1. On, from, and after the coming into force of these Terms (hereinafter referred to as the date of Union), Newfoundland shall form part of Canada and shall be a province thereof to be called and known as the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador.
2. The Province of Newfoundland and Labrador shall comprise the same territory as at the date of Union, that is to say, the island of Newfoundland and the islands adjacent thereto, the Coast of Labrador as delimited in the report delivered by the Judicial Committee of His Majesty's Privy Council on the first day of March, 1927, and approved by His Majesty in His Privy Council on the twenty-second day of March, 1927, and the islands adjacent to the said Coast of Labrador.

Let's see how far some constitutional lawyer will get if he tries to deny Newfoundland and Labrador this fundamental right to our boundaries.

Ah but see Cannuck you are blinded by your own inadequacies. I highlighted the reference to the 1927 Privy Council in the Newfoundland Act. And I quoted directly from that Privy Council ruling earlier in this thread. That's the end of the homework dude. Now piece it together.

There's been nobody on this Thread from Quebec, arguing Quebec's
side of this issue. Leaves this kind'a loop-sided, doesn't it? If Quebec
didn't have a side in this, it wouldn't be an issue. Just a weird observation. 8O
