Toastguy , when you're in Toronto , dont go Scarborough. When you're in Vancouver , dont walk around Hastings . If you can work for years in warehouses , pizza parlors , cleaning jobs or a as cab driver maybe , then Canada is your place.

Habibi , Canada is not what it says it is when it comes to immigrants especially the skilled ones. You can always visit and ask immigrants themselves. Canadians have a totally different take on things. Come see for yourself.

Since Toast will be studying in Canada. he or she will have no problem finding a job in that chosen sector.

the trouble arises when immigrants are unable to afford to take the equivalency test. Which is what is required for them to work at a profession learned in a foreign country.

Truth is , immigrants , skilled immigrants are required to do schooling for another two years . Rare are the people who can just take equivalency exams not needing to go back to school or classes.

And if you listen to all the sad stories of thousands , not even a Canadian education will land them the jobs that they studied for.

Even the Liberal newspapers acknowledge this predicament.

Why would you need an equivilency test for graphic design? Don't worry Toastguy, Canadian Observer is just reflecting his own inability to deal with the system. Many immigrants go on to lead productive lives in their field of choice.

There are problems if you are a doctor or lawyer...those problems have as much to do with the political pressure that professional associations put on governments as anything else though.

Move to Canada, Toastguy...a country can't have too many artists.
