is this truth or a rumour?I could not bare to read the article,as immediatly I thought to myself this scandlous headline cannot be true,so why would I read the article.Certainly with all the PR campainging going on ,I would expect our PM would place Flora at the top, then again maybe Flora had little respect for whatever, this could be interesting.
I don't plan on listening to strange rumours.I would hope these rumours are not true.

It's not a rumour. We might see a flip-flops, though.

You don't have any class, either Walter.

Perhaps you are one of the bumpkins who converted the Progressive Conservative Party into its current form as Republican Party North replete with it being driven by inappropriate foreign values.

You're one of those, aren' you Walter?

Yup. It is confirmed. Walter is one of those.

No class, Walter.

Did any of you folks, who are complaining about Harper, send a card or even write an email to your beloved Flora in her last weeks and months?

Stephen Harper to skip 'red Tory' Flora MacDonald's funeral

If Flora MacDonald had been born 20 years later, she might well have been Canada’s first female prime minister. As it was, the Cape Breton-born politician, who died early Sunday morning in her 90th year, broke down the invisible door that barred women from high office in Canada.

"A tempest in a teapot" methinks. I couldn't see much wrong with the spelling of her name, actually I didn't find anything wrong with it.

If they disliked each other so much, if Flora MacDonald lambasted Harper like that for ending the Progressive Conservatives, why would he attend her funeral? I'd give Harper credit for not being a politician about it and acting as if they actually got along.

Besides, it's not liking he's going to lose or win votes either way, and right now he's kinda preoccupied with that. If only there was some way he could hand out a giant cheque to the funeral home.

Those Eastern remnants of the PC Party still outnumber the Western Republican wannabees by a considerable margin. Give them the bum titty and the Western minority falls (even if they feel like they have a majority in Alberta). Time will tell. Dividing up your party on the verge of election because you "feel petulent, today" is likely to be disasterous for the whole range of right in Canada.

did you have to bring Walter into this conversation, after all he is not the most optimistic person to ask of opinion.
walter has his ways to bring the conversation down, thanks CC.

Did any of you folks, who are complaining about Harper, send a card or even write an email to your beloved Flora in her last weeks and months?
stop it,you are making me laugh.

You know Walter, just in case you haven't figured this out yet, handing out those little red thumbs down ratings without comment, making no attempt to criticize the views you don't like or justify a different position, just makes you look like a truculent 4-year old who can't do anything except whine "I don't like that. I don't like that. I don't like that." Don't expect anybody to take you seriously.
walter has problems, don't pick on him, demostrate tolerance,be compassionate.

thel bottom line is Flora has class, and requested Mr. Harper not come to the wake,we should admire her choices.

Funerals aren't all that important, it's how you treat people while they are alive that is! As the old poem ends "he can not read his tombstone when he's dead".

Says the Liberal who watched his party split because of infighting and have been grasping at straws ever since .

Well, the two parties were shot-gun married together but perhaps it was never properly consummated. I would proudly attend Joe Clark's funeral but you wouldn't find me in the same province as Prestom Manning or Stock Day when the bury their bones. The West wanted in and in the process, the rest of us got the finger.
As far as the Liberals are concerned, they have far deeper existential problems than that so try not to worry your pretty little head, Miss.
