Colpy as usual I agree with what you say.

I want to know why the left is so intent on making anything Harper says evil.

You know the next leader of the liberal party will probably be one who has the same stance on the middle east as harper has.

I swear the left on this board and in this country are all about propaganda. EVERYTHING is twisted.

Harper only became PM because of the corruption of the liberals. He promised to change government and make it more accountable. Harper decided he would rather use the corrupt administrative system and existing group patronage to seek a majority.

Harper is really in trouble on the Middle East because he has not inspired any confidence in any other way. It does seem like he is in a hurry to make extreme position statements on the Middle East and other places without really thinking through what he is doing. The feeling I get is that Bush has not been that receptive to him and so Harper's tail wagging has become more pronounced.

Shannon I don't think this article at all supports the view about Lebanese Canadians that you have been espousing. If this is the level of article you typically read it clarifies why you post what you do.

Sanch, I don't distinguish between one terrorist group and another. To me, a terrorist is a terrorist and any group that we've tagged as terrorist is on our list in our ongoing war against terror. That includes homegrown terrorism as well (ie the FLQ).

Hezbollah happens to be one of those terrorist groups. I have nothing against my fellow Citizens of Lebanese origin, provided they don't belong to Hezbollah. I'm quite sure that the great majority of those Lebanese Canadians or Americans who are here in North America do not belong to Hezbollah as they were screened prior to settling here.

This does sound more agreeable and workable in a multiethnic society.

that's right. stick a pro-Israeli propaganda inspired label on one side of the conflict and adjust your views accordingly.
Sheikh Izz el-Dine said the spin campaign against Hezbollah is designed to provide Israel with an excuse for another invasion of Lebanon.

Absolutely, Sanch. We are indeed fortunate here in North America to live in a multiethnic society.
