I bet people who think the Nobel prize is awarded to undeserving people couldn't name a half dozen people they think it shouldn't have been awarded to, off the tops of their heads at least. Barack Obama and Al Gore are about as far as these people would get. Maybe the EU if their memories work well enough. It just shows that all they do is perceive the prize as some liberal conspiracy.

I think that whether the prize is warranted depends on perspective. Malala Yousafzai won it last year for her work in girl's education. Compare that to Barack Obama who won it for doing nothing. Malala's potential impact on the world is nothing compared to a powerful person like Obama, and that makes her achievements all the more significant, whereas even if Obama did more for education than Malala, it would pale when compared to what he could have done.
