Haven't sen that show in a long time.... But I did watch Josey Wales last night.

I'm not clear about this - why would by it necessary or desirable to bring these vulnerable children to Canada? Why not take them to Turkey or Egypt where there is greater proximity to family and to language/cultures more in tune with their own?

Ideally to make them lefty canadian voters since thehome grown ones mostly are not quite so gullible.

This is the problem with the Israeli/Palestine debate. Did I ever say or suggest that killing Israelis was fine? Nope. I'd like to think that anyone who follows my posts knows I'm against killing all innocent people regardless of assumed political bias. But the hyper-polarized character of the argument leads TAXSLAVE to assume that any defense of Palestinians necessarily means the defender supports killing Israelis. Why would you ever assume that? It's an insane assumption to make and yet when this topic comes up, no one bats an eye.

Ottawa is refusing to bring injured children from Gaza to Canada for treatment, despite pleas from hospitals, health-care workers and the Ontario government.


It’s too risky to transport injured children and keep them away from family, Foreign Affairs spokesperson Adam Hodge via email. He said Ottawa’s “exploring” other kinds of aid but wouldn’t say what that would entail or when it would materialize.


In the meantime, Izzeldine Abuelaish can’t believe anyone would refuse to help a hurt child.


Ontario Health Minister Eric Hoskins said in a statement there is a “moral responsibility” to provide assistance to children injured in conflict zones.


Hamilton Health Sciences, Kingston General Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, The Hospital for Sick Children and London Health Sciences have all said they support Hoskins’ decision.


But Ottawa is not on board.
