I just found out that the reason Canada celebrates Thanksgiving in Oct is so that it doesn't conflict with Remembrance Day! I kind of like that. Keeping the vets in our thoughts!
No bird on our table.
Looks like a nice family get together in the very nice dining room.
I miss family get togethers.. aaaw pain in the heart thinking about past get togethers..
It was all friends for Thanksgiving.
E European potluck. Fish (the gorbusha was to die for), caviar, rye bread, salo, 3 or types of cabbage, koubassa, pickled everything and a couple salads.

Ah yes...the menu is coming together.
We are hosting this year. The "amenities garden BBQ pit" is booked (just today BTW. Apparently 38 floors of Chinese people who don't BBQ is a good thing)
Our contributions to the menu are ham, pork shishliki, lemon pepper poached wild coho, deer sausage, dungeness crab salad and rye whiskey.
There will be a plethora of ogher dishes including pickled veggies, kapustas and cheeses. The sweet ending will once again be the amazing high end delights from award winning Mon Paris Patisserie in Metrotown on Beresford.
Can't wait!
