So far I have not heard of any Country-Western stations organizing a boycott of Williams music like they did with the Dixie Chicks. It will interesting to see what their plans are in this regard, if any.

I don't agree with that analogy at all, many black people would have supported obama because he's black 'like
them',

Here's the problem: If I were to support a candidate because he's "white like me". I would probably rightly so be labeled a bigot or racist. So why should it be any different if a black or brown person has the exact same mentality? If it's acceptable for a black person but not a white person, then, that's obvious hypocrisy.

and because it has been almost impossible to ever have a black president, not because they don't like whites.
Again, is this even the right mentality when entering the voting booth? Nothing to do with the issues at hand i.e. the economy, jobs, debt, environment, foreign dependency for oil etc. Instead "we should get a black man in because now we have the chance like never before"? Again, that sounds like supporting him just because he's black.

that isn't bigotry, it is support,
Sorry, but I think it's racism. Don't think only whites can be racist. I personally knew a Persian fellow who did not hide the fact that he hated all Arabs. That experience helped remind me that since all different human races are truly equal, their all equally capable of having members with racist minds.

if there was only white candidates, they would pick one of them, where as, many people would never vote for a black person for president because they don't like blacks, and if all candidates were black, they most likely wouldn't vote at all.
I don't think there's as many white bigots as you may think. Certainly they exist, but again, racism comes in many forms.

It was either time for a woman or a black to be prez according to the Dems.

That sounds like a mentally ill way of thinking.

I cannot understand a nation that has such a great access to knowledge, and
use so little knowledge to explain almost anything. This is little more than
drivel, at best. Hank Jr, is a big ignorant red neck that can write some good
singing material but has little else for talent. His career is gone basically and
now he resorts to making stupid comments just to hold his image in the spot
light.
America was once the land of promise and direction, it was a land of hope and
optimism. It has been replaced by a Wigi Board mentality and a religious and
cultural madness that believe in the end times and superstition. Its hero's
measure up to be anyone who isn't boring that does something different. A,
everyone is a hero no matter what echo from a shrinking gene pool.
No I am not dumping on all Americans, I am hoping that they wake up and set
a course to something better. The Sara Palins, and the squawking voices of
madness have drowned out the legitimate voices of hope and even concern.
I find it sad to see a civilization and a once proud society sinking into the sunset
of history, when it doesn't have to be that way.
It is time to put away the ignorant rhetoric and the self serving attitudes and do
what is right for their children and grandchildren. The problem is these people
have as adults reverted to being so childish and self centered they cannot even
save themselves. Face it Hank Jr is trying to get attention and all he has to
offer is ignorance, I guess I think less of him today than I did yesterday and I didn't
think that was possible.

Look to the OJ case to see the point that was made -

I thoroughly understand the OJ case, don't think there is any comparison. The black people
in the OJ case supported him because he was black, and because they didn't have any support
for the white, it seemed they had a chance to pull one off over the white community, and they
didn't care that he was guilty.

They also 'lied' in the court room re: the glove, and other details.

Different situation. The blacks have voted for white candidates for many years, have not
rejected them because they are white.

If Obama had of been a poor candidate, a black bigot, obviously racial in character, someone who
was only there to push his way into office, and he had 'won', with all of the black community voting
for him, and not the white community, then I would agree, was not the case.

Obama was a candidate blacks and whites were drawn to, he showed the true character of a candidate
who sincerely wanted to make the country better, and it was a 'first', and he brought the whole country
to him, blacks and whites.

They were 1-2 in the Democratic party race in 2008, no one else was close. It seemed like Hillary's race to lose, and she did. Obama had a better organization, more charisma, and won.

We're all racialists, we all acknowledge the existence of race. And we all think our own race is best. To think otherwise is simply PC happy talk. Try to live in Asia and feel Asian, it stops after about five minutes. We're different and we can never be Asian, me anyway.

But a person is racist if they dumb things like all Asians are stupid or can't play hockey. Until recently, many Asians thought they couldn't compete against westerners in sports.

Science has no definition of race, yet race is mentioned in our constitution. A sign of obsession and that politics triumphs science-which isn't good.

No. You don't speak for all and certainly not me. The only people who think like that, are people who are obsessed with skin color being a issue. From day one we were taught that a person's skin color doesn't matter, but some people just can't look past the skin deep differences.

In Canada we don't think about race as much as other places, we forget, everyone gets along, no civil wars, great economy, no plantations, no major resentments, no ripping history like some other countries. We live in a pretty splendid place, even isolation. If we lived beside China/Russia./Germany say, different ballgame.

If the Canucks could get a black or Chinese guy who could win the Stanley Cup, I say get him now.

Uh... odd statement. Why should we get him? Because he can win us the cup (finally:)) or because he's black or Chinese?

If you say because he could win us the cup, then what does his skin color have to do with it? He's a great player. Period.

If you say because he's black, how does that improve the team exactly?

If you say both because he's skilled and black, again, what does his skin color have to do with it? He's skilled. You would actually be doing him a disservice because you're calling attention away from his skills (which he wants to be recognized for) and putting the attention onto his skin color, which is an insignificant fact.
