NFL draft time is rolling around, and one of the most intriguing prospects is Alabama safety Ha Ha Clinton-Dix.

His real name is Ha'Sean (hardly an improvement) and he's predicted to be one of the first half-dozen or so picks.

He may or may not do well in the NFL (many college superstars fizzle out at the NFL level), but how cool would it be to have a player on your favourite team named Ha Ha Clinton-Dix?

I see that I'm a little late to this, but since I'm new to the forum, I hope you all don't mind my chiming in on this.

I'm a Bama fan, and Ha Ha did a great job for us at safety. It was funny at times hearing TV commentators getting his name mixed up and calling him Clinton Ha Ha Dix.

I've got a friend who's an Auburn fan, and his favorite NFL team is Green Bay (who ended up drafting him). He was ecstatic to get Ha Ha in spite of the college rivalry.

Ok ok...

You're from Mississippi... you like hockey... the Ottawa Senators in particular. Ok...

But you're from Mississippi and you're a Bama fan?!?! You're NUTS! ;)

That's one of the few favorite teams I can explain in a way that makes sense. Both of my parents are from Alabama, and I have a lot of family there.

The friend that I refered to in the first post I made in this thread was laughing the other day about how scattered my favorite teams are geographically. Ottawa, Alabama, New Orleans, Houston, and Phoenix.

Plus, I'm proud of being crazy. Normal people worry me.

Football = hardcore religious beliefs - comparable? Yes.

All jokes aside, you'd be surprised how many out of state teams have significant followings in my area. Alabama and LSU are the two primary examples. They have as many - if not more - fans in this area as any of the in-state teams. That said, what have any of the Mississippi teams given people to root for? :p

I'm a Ravens fan, Scott. As you no doubt know, we got CJ Mosley. One of our extensive and impressive core of Tide alums.

I think Mosley could be the next Ray Lewis, in his own style.

I had the honour of playing 9-man football in Japan with the great Tide defensive lineman Alton Jasmine, aka "Jazz."

OK, he wasn't great. Never made the NFL, never even made first string with the Tide. Still, playing on an Air Force intramural team, he was amazing.
