I've been saying for years to anybody who would listen, that a big problem in America lies in their sense of humour and the lack of self-deprecation it entails.
Brits and Canadians have the ability to laugh at ourselves on a daily basis. American humour is all 'in your face'...'at ya'...etc.
Add guns around every corner, and you have a toxic mix of a grumpy, armed populace who can't take a joke.
