Yes, I'm sure that is what the gun control activists in Britain would say but the point is that sweeping gun control legislation was deemed the miracle cure for Britain's escalating gun crime but a few years after it was put into effect not only did the crime rate not go down it went up. Again, banning guns is just a quick convenient placebo for politicians trying to avoid the real work which is required to address the issue.

I agree, anytime something is deemed a miracle cure people really ought to be more skeptical.
