To clarify, I don't fully believe her. I'm just saying on principle it was up to the courts and not the PM to reveal the criminal accusations against her to the public.

You keep missing it.

a) The PM knew the exact nature of the allegations against her, hence his involving the ethics commissioner and the RCMP.

b) The PM could not reveal all he knew to her because it WOULD taint the investigation, however if she is charged, she has a right to know and defend herself from the evidence gathered in the investigation. She related to Mansbridge that she learned some of the general allegations from the party lawyer who was in contact with her later on, and that as far as the PMO could ethically go. Its some fine lines but thats how the process works.

c) The PM (as party leader of the CPC) has obligations to his party as well as to Ms Guergis in how he handles this turn of events in the press. Leaving it as a vague untruth, as you earlier suggested, was a bomb waiting to hit his party as soon as the opposition got a hold of it. It as CDNBear said, Harper was damned either way: if he protects her, he taints any investigation and possibly violates the law, and if he doesn't protect her, he "betrays her trust".

The whole airport thing in Charlottetown is pretty much a red herring to me, but I think it shows some of her character: I hate airports too but I don't lash out at people just trying to do their job. Even if they're absolute morons, it doesn't help anything because in the end you still need to utilize their services or you wouldn't be there...

There are no good ones.

But what about when you write the name of a good one on your ballot? Certainly they must be good politicians, albeit unwilling ones. Then again, seeing they're not legitimately on the ballot, I guess they don't count.

Oh well, at least I tried to give politicians the benefit of the doubt.

Because it seemed to be on cue, in an interview that really didn't ask any hard hitting questions, or at least dig at them when the answers were silly.

I don't believe her because she's a politician. I hate to generalize, but I think most if not all are unmittigated scumbags, by nature.
Agreed, which is why I have not said she was guilty of any wrong doing. Only that she's been dumped legitimately, and that I don't believe she doesn't know why.

This is contrived...

YouTube - Glenn Beck Crying On-Air

You don't believe her because she is a woman who showed emotion.

What was she dumped for?

What did she do other than cry on air.

If the RCMP find nothing then what?

This whole thing smells rotten and I am not about to deem someone guilty before due process.

If there is one thing that I've learned working in resource industry, anybody and everybody is corruptable for a price.

Call me a sucker, but I have a hard time deciding if that emotion was contrived or not. In the end though, we can still judge by what the person says regardless of whether the tears are contrived or not.
FOX/CIA/Mossad hires the best actors money can buy.

Yes Avro, you know the minute workings of my thought process...

What was she dumped for?
As far as I know, allegations of money laundering, influence peddling and abuse of office. As well as allowing her hubby to use Gov't services.

What did she do other than cry on air.
Look like a rube. Especially when she said she and Jaffer didn't know how the coke got there. Nice delicate way of accusing the cops of unethical behavior, without a shred of proof.

I'm reminded of the old excuse, when a woman comes home from work early, only to find her husband balls deep in the neighbours wife...

"Oops, I slipped and fell in her"...

If the RCMP find nothing then what?
I hope she sues the pants off Harper and the CPoC.

Good for you. Neither am I. Or are you conveniently missing that point?

Sex or coke scandals are the best way to destroy political careers. The yanks set people up that way all the time. A hair sample would end the debate.

I had to chuckle when I heard Helena speak of their drug-free lives going as far as regaling Mansbridge with her experiences with pot waaayyy back at the tender age of 14 years..... This of course, was followed-up with having little recollection of Gilani (although she does recall having to wait an hour in the bar for him, his bimbo and another couple to arrive).
