Thank you Kreskin

You made my point: What has Washington and all the guys who get paid too much have to do with global warming .... of the planet earth???

More politicizing....

I agree. It doesn't just cut Al Gore's way though and he isn't out blowing up the world because of his book.

How are you doin' Bear?

Can't you tell those guys in Washington drive me nuts?
Nope!!!lmao!!!

You know what my biggest problem is with politicians, past and present?

They do nothing for the greater good. I don't trust Gores motives, not one bit. I'll use a line from the movie "Hunt For Red October"

"I'm a politician. That means, if I'm not kissin' baby's, I'm tryin' to steal their lollipops."

That sums them up quite nicely. No matter the stripe.

I would weigh in on this topic, but I'm tired of trolling. lol.

Al Gore invented the internet, without his great inention you wouldn't be bitching about his power consumption. :)

Gore never did say that he invented the internet. He did say that he took the initiative in helping it along while in Congress. Just more lies from deniers to discredit a guy who has done a lot of good in the fight against global warming.

Ho hum.

he has a carbon neutral footprint.

he goes out and buys trees to input oxegen back in the air.

Nice, example to set for the average American.. "Got the cash!, keep the same 'ol lifestyle and buy some trees and pay some people to plant them... never feel guilty about using wasteful energy again! - Rich, buy trees,be green!"

Yeah while the rest of us middle class and lower class try to figure out how to become carbon neutral without an abundance of $$.. great way to show my example how to be green for the Average American Al!

That's it? The guy is only putting in solar heating? Does he recycle? What kinda vehicle does he drive? Does he car pool? Take the bus? What does he do to combat the other GHGs?
Anyway, what about the green state's governor Ahnode? What's he doing to help CA stay the greenest state?
BTW, planting trees may help a bit, but the biggest O²/CO² exchange is done in the oceans.

I wasn't criticizing your response Durka, I expect to hear it anytime Gore is picked on by deniers. You are not the only one who has tried to paint Gore with that little gem. You take a pill and stop being so presumptious maybe.

I wasn't trying to paint him 'with that little gem". The whole "Al Gore created the internet" has been a running joke with anyone who has some what followed technology in the last decade. Detecting sarcasm isn't one of your better traits I take it.

Lol, Gore creates internet, Senator Stevens calls them tubes. Funny stuff, makes me think that politicians just like tubes or pipes to ship $hit around. Gotta keep them open or they'll have $hit backed up for miles.

No, I may not be good at detecting sarcasm but it appears that you are even less good at understanding that what you say and you specifically are not all that important.

I 'somewhat' follow a lot of things so we should get along fine once you get over yourself.

Get over what? Did you read what I posted originally?

It's times like these that I wish Al Gore didn't invent the Internet, your last post killed half a birch tree.

look out....TIMBERRRR....lol.

Shady, you'll find theres lots of sarcasm and humour here. It'd be pretty dry and dull I think without the occasional joke.

Come on now, play nice. He made a joke, I know it's tempting to bust into a new forum with zeal, but perhaps not the best way to make good impressions on regular forum members.

I will again state, it would be great to have a standardized font to denote sarcasm...

Tonington, Just go back and read what I said to evoke the attack on me. I just don't appreciate being called Cletus and told to take a pill for no reason. The person involved needs to get down off his high horse and learn to respond to remarks such as that which I made in a more suitable manner. In any event it's not an issue to me if he does or not.

"Gore participates in a utility program that sells blocks of "green power" for an extra $4 a month. He buys 108 such blocks every month, covering 16,200 kilowatt-hours and helping subsidize renewable energy sources."
