"Coal, oil and natural gas developments have all been stymied by Obama, who has starved them of permissions and bound them in red tape. To make good his pledge of energy self-sufficiency in North America, Romney would unleash the Keystone pipeline, permit offshore developments on all U.S. coasts, open up and lease federal lands in the interior, encourage coal and fracking of gas, and depoliticize carbon by removing this nonpolluting gas from the Clean Air Act's purview."

I wonder what Appalachia will look like after 4 years under a Romney administration? I doubt there will be single mountain left in the region and every valley will be a toxic waste dump.

China about 3 years ago reached 2 coal plants a week coming on line- It is cheaper power - creates jobs- And yes there will be environmental problems.

Environmental problems that will have far reaching effects on both the population and the planet.

Yes. And as I have stated the West will not damage their economies because of GW- Neither will the emerging countries - GW is coming and nothing will be done to mitigate it.

Bill Maher Defends Clint Eastwood: ‘He Did a Bit With Just an Empty Chair and Killed’

Breaking with nearly every liberal commentator, comedian Bill Maher defended Clint Eastwood’s offbeat speech at the Republican National Convention on his HBO show Friday, saying he “did a bit with just and empty chair and killed” it — without a teleprompter no less.

Maher wondered why so many people were complaining about Eastwood’s wacky unscripted speech when they usually gripe about how scripted the political conventions are.

“I’ve got to give him props for that,” Maher said, the audience responding with applause.

I heard that opinion as well. Poor Mitty everyone is upstaging him.

Maher may be right. But unfortunately for Republicans it does not appear that the public shares his opinion of Eastwood's wit; not even Republican members of the public. Sadly he came across as an angry old man shouting the equivalent of "You kids get off my lawn." Even worse for Romney is that is all anyone is going to remember.

Good quote from Obama out on the stump:

"Everything is bad, it’s Obama’s fault and Governor Romney is the only one who knows the secret to creating jobs and growing the economy," the president said sarcastically. "That was the pitch. There was a lot of talk about hard truths and bold choices, but nobody ever actually bothered to tell you what they were."

Yer numbers are full of it. Talk about an unbiased source, Doctors for a National Health Program indeed.

Which ones are those?

to start with, the u.s. people are lucky to be rid of bushy, as he talked to god, and god advised
him at times, so that is one faith based program gone with the wind along with the b.s. that went
with it.

I'm wondering why people here are thinking Eastwood's little spiel was serious and not a comedy routine.

Anyway, I don't care what pols say at conventions, during elections, etc, Lies and liars are rampant and profuse.

How could anyone (with a functioning I.Q.) think he was serious?

Didn't we have a P.M. who talked to God? Not to mention his deceased Mother!

Maybe it was, LG..........what if Eastwood was actually a Democratic plant, under deep cover, sent to wreak havoc with RNC? ;-)
