What I find here in NB, where we typically do 120-125 on the divided highways, is that when you find a left-lane-cruiser, staying in the left (PASSING) lane, at 114km/h, it's ALWAYS from Ontario.

If you're not doing 125, move over, goddam it. We have things to do.

Yup. It's a real problem, here. You'll probably find that the same geniuses enter that 125KPH highway at 80KPH ... just testing it out like daubing your toe in the water before you accelerate up to the highway speed that they are supposed to be doing, already.

We also have the pass- on-the-right-and-cut-you-off types in abundance, even if you're over on the right. I refer to the merge lanes that say they'll end in 100 meters as "Ontario Passing Lanes".

I wonder what speed would be fast enough to suit everybody! 200 kmh? 300? Anyone ever think of leaving home 10 minutes earlier? Try it, it works like a damn & far less stressful. :) The reduction in fuel consumption might amaze you too!

Is this the thread where one can vent his overwhelming urge to bad language and poor spelling?

Perhaps Boomer could shed a little light on that! :)

Yup. The OPP will take you down for 118+

It's what we do for fun. If we have a couple of days we head over to NB and go 114kph in the left lanes.

and the speed limit is 120-125? Or is it 100kph? If it is 100-110, then what the fu ck are you whining about? If someone is doing 114 in the left lane they are already speeding and breaking the law.

But it's the "fast lane" gerry. It's for criminal drivers.

Which covers about 95% of drivers these days. Do you think these are the same people who are whining about carbon tax and the excessive use of fossil fuels? :) :)

Around here, on 400 level highways at certain times of the day, you'll be hit from behind by cement trucks if you're only doing 114 kph. It is not uncommon to have highway speeds up around 135 kph or even higher on the highways outside of the GTA. The OPP can hardly cope.

If you see someone flashing their lights at you during the day, there's an OPP perched up ahead.

If you see someone in Northern Ontario spinning thier arm out the window, same thing.

how about using the passing lane for passing, and driving in the right hand lane at whatever speed you choose.

And so, what's your point? The limit is 110. If you're holding up traffic, get out of the way, no matter what speed you're doing.

But it's the "fast lane" gerry. It's for criminal drivers.

It's for people who aren't geriatric Catholics.

You can spot them by their hats.

My favourite to hate on are the people who do the limit when driving. Then when these same people get the passing lane for a bit, they decide to speed up to 15 over the limit.

Depends- Sometimes you find yourself driving the speed limit behind a gravel truck (which is not the safest situation) in which case I don't see any problem with speeding up for a few seconds to get past it and then return to the right lane.
