So they can do the job as well as you then. It must suck to have a job where you can be so easily replace with unskilled labourers. That's probably why you're so bitter.

Well at least I have a job... Welfare day has come and gone for you... That must suck for you living off powered milk and Kraft Dinner, and income assisted housing.

You're such a douche... In the U.S. Tractor Trailers must have eLogs and many are equipped with DriveCams to watch the driver and keep the people on the roads safe.. This is mandatory in the U.S. A truck driver is caught texting while driving it's a $1500 dollar fine, $15,000 dollar fine for the company.

Canada should consider making the roads safer for all.. up the fines, and require eLogs for all commercial vehicles.

I prefer to work in a safe environment, where it's safe for everyone on the road.

What I do find funny is the anti-gun croud doesn't give a rats azz about road safety..

Maybe that's because they don't own a gun, but they own a car and that would affect them personally ..

If you can't go at least the speed limit, you better be in the right lane. If not, you deserve to be tailgaited. Once you learn to drive and can handle the speed of traffic, you can move to the left lanes.

Yeah I've seen that happen while driving in Gatinue.

You're right they just don't give a dam, and the Quebecers come to Ontario, drive like idiots then return home after getting a speeding ticket and never pay it...

Agreed, but do you drive the speed limit if the road is slippery, or do you slow down. I will go one step further, as a trucker I will pull over if it's safe to do so and let cars pass... also you know when two rigs try to pass each other on the 401, some will take 30 minutes to pass... I slow down a bit to let the other rig pass, most don't give s dam and block up the hammer lane.... and they call that a professional driver?

Clearly our uneducated truck driver know not of what he speaks.

Clearly you're just angry that the immigrants can do your job for less. It sure does explain a lot

No Cannuck I'm not angry, where I work they don't hire many immigrants, actually you have to have years of verifiable driving experience, no accidents, no tickets.. and they pay top dollar hourly... In short 6 figure salary a year. ;)

Now you should get off Welfare and get a job Dipper. Welfare bums voted NDP in Alberta...

Northern Ontario,
I don't know how many of you have ever driven from North Bay to Toronto on highway 11, but as you get to Gravenhurst there is this little curve that can be a bîtch if you don't follow the posted speed even with a car.
A couple of weeks ago, as I'm getting close, I notice a line-up and everyone switching to the left lane, so I tell my wife that some tourist with a fifth wheel travel trailer probably took the curve too fast....but I was wrong....
As we drove past there was the driver pacing back and forth while a wrecker was trying to extricate his truck from the guard rail...
If I mention his ethnicity, the wet noodles in the forum will call me a racist......so I'll just say that the truck was a Trans-X...;-)

A little curve?

Do you mean the one that turns South after the bridge by Bethune?

That's not a little curve and is clearly marked as 70 and has been 60 for the last few years during the bridge expansion but a lot of people speed through there with bad results.

Hwy 69 freaks me out because the truckers just don't slow down.....

Northern Ontario,
That would be the one...About 15 years ago the highway in that area had been under construction for miles before the the curve....the construction was over but the reduced speed signs had not yet been removed...so I was disregarding the speed limit while hauling my fifth wheel trailer in the late evening with no traffic at all.
The curve caught me by surprise and I was lucky that I had well adjusted brakes on my truck and trailer and was able to shift to lthe left hand lane just before the curve.
I don't think the overhead sign was there at the time.

Little curve was tongue in cheek;-)

Northern Ontario,
Somehow, someone overlooked re-installing the warning lights that only flashed if you were going too fast at that curve
Dunno, don't remember, But anytime I think I'm gonna drive that stretch at night or in the rain I put it as a way point on my GPS so I get advance warning.....

Since you would only use your phone when stopped I recommend picking up a used laptop which gives you a much better and bigger screen plus a keyboard..

Check out Kijiji for whatever town you are in.

There's always someone selling off lease ones for a good price.......

Buy or Sell Laptop Computers in Guelph | Buy & Sell | Kijiji Classifieds

Yeah, thanks I just picked up an enamel table of Kijiji, great app. Stripped the paint on the wood and painted Robins Egg Blue, matching chairs.

I think I'm going with a new iMac from Best Buy don't need anyone else's problems or hidden crap...

Now back to the road...

I was recently on I 40 travelin across the country and I always love it when you have the cruise control on and up ahead is a mountain pass and two 18 wheelers decide that they need to bottle up both lanes so no one can pass and have to creep along at their speed.

Unfortunately, too many "truck" drivers think they own the road because they have a "big rig". It's called pe*is envy.

I'll check that on Tuesday.

I try my best not to go on the highway on long weekends with all the 416'ers and 905'ers out there.......
