There are all kinds of things out there that I could take issue with today some of it
valid some just silly like this one. It is an example and a form of math calculation.
Our the children that simple they are going to be hypnotised into a belief system?
Actually no, children, healthy children question everything and as a parent all of
us have faced that at one time or another.
The real problem I have is with children being taught hate in the halls of education
and Sunday School No I am not talking about the majority of schools and churches
but there are some scary examples like the Westboro Baptists and their hate we saw
right here on these threads.
Some years ago there was a school in Central Alberta that allegedly preached a form
of hatred for minorities for a while, if I am not mistaken, I think it was Bentley or some
place near there. I have some information on it somewhere in my dormant files but
somebody out there might remember.
I believe kids should learn about all sectors of society, not to indoctrinated but to inform
and educate. The reason scam artists do so well is because ignorance in many cases
is still king. If people can see the workings of a scam artist they won't likely fall for the
nonsense in the first place.
Children are no different if we truly educate them the first thing they will learn is there is
more than one opinion about everything and they should develop their own view based
on as much information as possible.

affair that had a lot to do with education. Keegstra was the subject of an
inquiry, that lasted a little shorter than two years. His teachings and beliefs
were defended by some notable people including one Stockwell Day.
Day was the Principal of a fundamentalist school in Bentley and the schools
curriculum included alleged derogatory statements against Muslims and
Jews. Day personally denied he had those views, but the school curriculum
taught them at the time it was alleged. Don't remember the outcome of
the inquiry. It would appear to me that teaching things like that or the
Westboro Baptist Church and it teachings would be much more damaging
than a math equation that could be interpreted several different ways.
To be fair it was never proven that Mr. Day shared all the views of the curriculum.
