According to the article in the Toronto Star at http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/article/709153--exodus-sees-church-st-losing-its-gay-village-identity gays and lesbians are fading

Who would have thought, that the gay identity would abandon ship.

The war is over the gay rights are entrenched in the laws and now they are considered mainstream.

Big corporations want gays in their stores because they know that they have lots of money to spend.

The gays don’t have to support gay businesses and they don’t have to live in the gay areas.

Society will look at gays and lesbians as they do visible minorities

Pretty soon Gaytown will be no more and heterosexuals will take back the area in time and all that will remain will be a statue and a plaque.

I doubt someone will whittle a statue of you or even etch a sketch a plaque for you.

Look at history. At the state of societies that celebrate and legitimate homosexualty. They are always in precipitous decline, inundated with confusion, disorder, pessimism. It is both a symptom and an accelerant of a collapse of a civil moral order.

At some level we all know how damaging homosexuality to the health and welfare of both individuals and societies. We know how futile it is to producing true happiness or grace. Nothing needs to be 'proven'. What we have lost, is any appreciation now that there will be consequences.

The proposition that Good and Evil are personal and relative abstractions.. or that homosexuality is NOT a dynamic and insatiable Evil is not sustainable. It will produce completely unintended and catastrophic outcomes, as it always has.

^ --- Lots of claims, none of which are substantial or supported. Sounds like sour grapes to me.

The gays are moving to other parts of the city because the area is gentrifying, they don't like baby boomers in their midst I guess.

'gaytown' is disappearing because now gay couples can get married, buy a house together, and move next door to you to raise their kids. There's no 'decline', just a shift in mentality about the place of gays in society. As it should be.

What makes the key to your arse the one that winds the world?
Who's In Charge?

All the organs of the body were having a meeting, trying to decide who was in charge.

"I should be in charge", said the brain, "because I run all the body's systems, so without me nothing would happen".

"I should be in charge", said the blood, "because I circulate oxygen all over, so without me you'd all waste away".

"I should be in charge", said the stomach, "because I process food and give all of you energy".

"I should be in charge", said the rectum, "because I'm responsible for waste removal".

All the other body parts laughed at the rectum and insulted him, so in a huff, he shut down tight. Within a few days, the brain had a terrible headache, the stomach was bloated, and the blood was toxic. Eventually the other organs gave in. They all agreed that the rectum should be the boss.

The moral of the story? You don't have to be smart or important to be in charge ... just an asshole.
