Does anybody know if Mayor Ford gave any grant money for the Gay Pride organizers?

The amount of money a city MAKES from Gay Pride events isn't exactly chicken feed. It is good business sense to be a host city.

22 minutes did a bit on Rob Ford during which they showed vids of some comments he made when a TO City Councillor. I simply could not believe that someone who disparaged the homeless and made racist remarks could even be elected councillor let alone go on to be mayor - truly makes me wonder about the cognitive abilities of some voters.

Homeless guys don't vote. People who pay taxes to fund the shelters do. Not to hard to see where the voters priorites are.

What does that have to do with a politician who spews such garbage? Rob Ford is mayor one of the most important cities in Canada with an extremely high profile internationally - it does that great city a disservice to have such a throw-back as their foremost spokesperson. IMHO.

As for constituents voting with their wallets, I question their moral compasses.

Speaking as only 1 voter, this stuff doesn't really bother me. He is at the very least honest -- he tells it like he sees it which is a rare trait. You think any of the other polititians actually care even though they keep there mouth shut or worse utter some complete claptrap and then do nothing? And he still beats his tax and spend predessessor who also did diddly squat about homlessness.
