- Tonight my wife and I went to our favourite karaoke bar so we could enjoy some singing and, more importantly, so that I could enjoy singing some Sinatra, Presley and other songs to an enthusiatic audience before my mind goes blank and I forget the lyrics or my voice goes blank and I can only croak the songs.
- After the evening out we took a taxi back to our place since I happen to believe that six beers (actually any beers at all) are too many for anyone driving on the public thoroughfares.
- The taxi driver who drove us home was a seemingly intelligent and well spoken man who was born in Canada after his parents immigrated from Pakistan.
- We chit chatted back and forth quite amiably until I asked him about the current violence in the Muslim world and especially in Pakistan directed at the American embassy and other Ameerican assets.
- In the course of our conversation, it became clear that he could not understand let alone accept the concept of free speech including the right to attack or make fun of the prophet Mohammud or other religious figures.
- It also became clear that he actually was delusional enough to believe that 9/11 was a Jewish plot whereby the Jews controlled the Christians and over 3500 Jews worked in the World Trade Center and EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM was absent on 9/11 and therefore was saved.
- How the fruck can we appease a Muslim population in which even intelligent second generation Muslims do not understand or accept the concept of free speech and blame 9/11 on the Jews?
- Just asking ... maybe management-trainee-in-chief BO can explain this to us.
