However, in 2009, all liabilities for death and disability from faulty or contaminated vaccines have been stripped away. Any wrongful death or disability lawsuits against Novartis or any other company will today be summarily dismissed.
Novartis today has carte blanche blanket immunity for their actions and any large pharmaceutical company who so desires, can join them at the feeding troughs just by paying millions for their “kits”.

The latest in the barrage of media reports on swine flu is a Bloomberg news report (August 25, 2009) that it might hospitalize 1.8 million patients in the US and over-burden hospital intensive care units.
This comes from a planning scenario released by the President's Council of Advisers on Science and Technology
The Bloomberg story cites some theatrical numbers:
* Half of the US population infected (that is, over 150 million people)
* 300,000 people in hospital intensive care units
* 30–90,000 people dead
* By-pass surgery emergency operations disrupted
But hidden in paragraph 5 of the Bloomberg piece is the most pertinent part:

I naturally have no idea about what's being talked about in Australia. I can tell you that for the past couple of days, our newspapers here are filled with how bad this virus is going to be and there is absolutely zero talk about how dangerous the vaccine is. There is more talk about the very fact that they fear the vaccine is going to arrive too late. It is my understanding that with the vaccine being prepared, one shot is all that will be necessary. However, while waiting for that to be prepared, some high risk people may have to take several shots of the tammi (sp)flu shots in the hope that they may be prepared for the flu. The statement is that anyone born previous to 1957 has a good chance of immunity but young people and those with compromised immune systems are high risk.
It is also thought that the USA will receive their vaccine before Canada does. That might be good for us in someways because we'll get to see the reaction. On the other hand, according to the news, thousands could die before then.

people who really know what they're talking about, as I hate to see people believe

This year though Talloola, you will have to get the regular shot along with the H1N1 when it becomes available and that will probably not be before November anyway. Like you, we usually try to wait until November for our shots but we get them done at the clinic our doctor works in so we go when they have it available.
