Northern Ontario,
Anyone here a fitness nut?????
I don't usually write reports on gadgets I buy, but a negative experience turned positive makes it worthwhile.

About 4 months ago I had bought a Garmin vivo fit and my wife a Fitbit charge.
In comparing the two I didn't much like the Garmin, and the Fitbit charge features were much better, like a readout showing who is calling without taking the phone out, giving you the option of calling back later if you felt it wasn't important.
So I returned it, and bought a "Charge" also.
From the start I was getting only 7 days out of a full charge while my wife was getting 8 and sometimes 9 on the same settings.
Slowly mine was going down until last week I was getting one day out of a full charge.
So this morning I called their help desk...
After waiting 5 minutes for a rep, the rest didn't take long...
I had temporarily put my full name and address on my Fitbit online monitor, so they could have full access to the info, including how often I had to recharge the unit.
Within five minutes, I was told they would send me not only a replacement unit free of charge, but a better one with even more features since the model I had was older and discontinued.
Copy of part of the email I received within minutes along with a tracking number..

That's service they can brag about....

Northern Ontario,
One neighbourhood lady was telling me that the Fitbit on her wrist didn't count the steps when she was pushing her stroller.
Next time I see her I will have to tell her that pushing the lawnmower and using the gas whipper around the yard counted for 5000 steps....or maybe it was the vibrations of the grass whipper that did it

Northern Ontario,
The replacement Fitbit arrived 3 days ago and is still showing a three quarter full battery..
That's when I tried different drastic things with the old one...before recycling it like Fitbit said, I first let it drain completely then I did something I used to do with old nickel cadmium batteries that wouldn't take a charge any more......Spark them with 12 volts!
Make sure to wear a face shield or at least goggles when you try that.....then I let it charge for 24 hrs even if it showed full after 2 hours.

Been wearing the thing all day and it's still showing full charge......
