Don't ask how this crossed my mind, but where's the 17th century Christians to persecute these guys as witches and burn them at the stake for our own safety when we really need them? :p

I never once though one of my threads would be hijacked by a bunch of idiots.... *sigh*

Don't even pretend to know anything about particle physics. Anybody that's taken even first year chem and phys classes can understand there's nothing to worry about.

/end of rant.

BTW, what ever happened to critical thinking?

Yes I see. We need to get some of these scientificos on the rack and stretch the facts out of them in laymans terms to get them to lay off the specialist language which in fact is a major problem that were having with them. Do you know that for the physics dept of ST FX to hold a meeting with the math dept they have to hire translators. That's a fact, it's called the Babble Syndrome. Really bad situation. They're givin to bursts of speaking in tongues. Yes certainly a bit of old time religion is what these guys need, they don't seem to be interested in science at all, and if they are where's the beef. I mean look at that collossal failure in Swisserland today, the button was pushed and zippo nada nothing not even a ripple in the space time thingy. What kind of a lame grand opening was that.

I am sorry that Praxius has ruined this thread.

I have a slight aquaintance with photons AmberEyes. Particle physics is fascinating stuff but a very remote subject for most people. There are lots of good writers in the field who do very well at allowing the layman a peek. I am sorry that we had a laugh at the expence of your thread. I don't think anybody here had any fear of the magnetic flux torus (if that's what it is) starting anything at all.

Thank god. I was thinking you were all serious for a while there -_-

They've switched the machine on, but there have been no collisions yet, so if something untoward is to happen it won't occur until collisions take place.

The first particle collisions won't take place until around a week's time. All they've done in the machine is hurtle particles in opposite directions around the 17 mile long circular tunnel at 11,000 times per second.

But if a black hole is ever created, you'll be dead before you know about it, because it'll swallow the whole planet in a nanosecond.
With any luck the black hole will be created between your ears... Oh wait, it already has 8O
