I'd still like to know who gave (I think it was Cliffy's post) a thumbs down in the country music thread.

For a music video. Gimme a break.

Either it was a dingbat or it was an "oops". So either way, a mistake. Just one is on a larger scale than the other. Lol

But can't you tell?

I think I'm about to be the second...lol I'm starving and I want a nap....2 coffees both tasted like tap water and they were Keurig so no way it was the coffee *yawn*

'course it could just be psychological because I am about to do my income tax and I already know that I owe :( question is just how much...I am praying it is less than what I am fearing but I doubt it...contracts mess with the amount taken off at times...

Perhaps you should strive to reach his maturity level! It's head and shoulders above yours!

No, vindictiveness definitely shows a lack of maturity, not to mention intelligence. Statistics clearly do not support Joe's approach to dealing with crime. Mature people don't let their emotions get in the way of facts

For the rep rollers, here's a video that accurately describes my thoughts on these pointless discussions:

As for the subject matter, the Criminal Justice system is not just about punishment. Maybe people only think of health care as a cure, but preventing something in the first place is often cheaper than paying for the consequences afterwards.

What does it cost typically to confine someone convicted of a sex crime? For the high risk offenders, if the recidivism drops by 75%, then that is a pretty significant cost savings.

But far more important, it's stopping crimes from occurring. It's far more important that a program like this can prevent future victims of sex crimes.

Is that an attempt at adding something to the discussion or are you just trolling?

Is not the repetition of the same remark ad infinitum included in "stupid, silly or childish" or perhaps all three? Or is it that only one poster on the forum is allowed to be stupid, silly or childish while the rest of us have to toe the line.? -:)

It is interesting reading through this thread because people seem to want to deny the possibility of success when treating sexual offenders. They are only untreatable because WE don't know how to yet. 30 years ago we didn't know how to treat depression. We have moved forward with that now. Not there 100% but we have moved forward. We can move forward folks that's what the human race does. We learn and progress. Well, some do anyway. Others stay stuck.

As for suggesting castration, it does not prevent rape or sexual assault. It is a poor answer to a bad problem solving nothing.

Unfortunately Sal, we live in the present. Lets hope we do know how to treat them someday, as we can't warehouse them all (apparently). You're absolutely right re sexual assault, rape, castration.

Leave it to the jackbooters to defund something which might have positive results...........in the future.

They defunded a program that was having positive results in the present. Not just some possible airy fairy future results.

It's almost as if they want recidivism rates to go up so they can justify their "tough on crime" stance.
