You could also say Bear is just Bear, oh wait you have said that before. A comment on the OP is always an open option is it not? Some post in the thread a few years old might be trolling though. Odd that the thread title should be about the only thread here that has lasted that long and been popular enough to goo 100 pages and then some.
Phobia thread or what? Only a few people have been keeping the thread alive lately.

Yes, I am well aware of that insanity, as my granddaughter is in Paris and is coming home today. You, as I am sure many others are aware of, these so called Islamists are nothing but terrorists, many of which are home grown. The beliefs these people hold have nothing whatever to do with Islam, anymore than the many who have, over the centuries killed, murdered, enslaved in the name of Christianity.

Like some lower animals, we kill our own, for very little more than than a slight difference in appearance, behaviour or belief.

The real problem is the Quran. It's a hate filled manual written to give Muslims a sense of superiority.

Muslims have not kept up with modern society and they are now using their religion to rebel against the winners in society.

Any more than the old testament which is still quoted by many and still use it to keep others down? It talks about stoning women prostitutes, or witches, how to treat one's slaves, killing unbelievers etc. Women were not to speak in church and were simply chattel. Most religions are hate filled, mainly because they were formed for those that existed at the time and needed to feel special.

You mention not keeping up with modern ways......just who do you feel are the winners in society?? I have a hard time dealing with all those who treat those of other races, or sexes as less than human. Western society is not so far out of age of slavery and many so called modern ones still keep & use sex slaves. All terrorists are as secretive as those so called "Muslims" who use religion as an excuse to feel more like winners. Modern western criminals no longer bother to use religion as an excuse, they simply feel entitled!!

Islamic State sanctioned organ harvesting in document taken in U.S. raid
Warren Strobel, Jonathan Landay and Phil Stewart, REUTERS
First posted: Thursday, December 24, 2015 11:44 PM EST | Updated: Thursday, December 24, 2015 11:50 PM EST
WASHINGTON - Islamic State has sanctioned the harvesting of human organs in a previously undisclosed ruling by the group's Islamic scholars, raising concerns that the violent extremist group may be trafficking in body parts.
The ruling, contained in a January 31, 2015 document reviewed by Reuters, says taking organs from a living captive to save a Muslim's life, even if it is fatal for the captive, is permissible.
Reuters couldn't independently confirm the authenticity of the document. U.S. officials say it was among a trove of data and other information obtained by U.S. special forces in a raid in eastern Syria in May.
"The apostate's life and organs don't have to be respected and may be taken with impunity," says the document, which is in the form of a fatwa, or religious ruling, from the Islamic State's Research and Fatwa Committee.
"Organs that end the captive's life if removed: The removal of that type is also not prohibited," Fatwa Number 68 says, according to a U.S. government translation.
The document does not offer any proof that Islamic State actually engages in organ harvesting or organ trafficking. But it does provide religious sanction for doing so under the group's harsh interpretation of Islam - which is rejected by most Muslims. Previously, Iraq has accused Islamic State of harvesting human organs and trafficking them for profit.
The document does not define "apostate," though the Islamic State has killed or imprisoned non-Muslims, such as Christians, and Shiite Muslims, as well as Sunni Muslims who don't follow its extremist views.
DOCUMENTS SHARED WITH ALLIES
U.S. officials say the records that were seized have given the U.S. government a deep look into how Islamic State organizes, raises funds and codifies laws for its followers.
Iraq's ambassador to the United Nations, Mohamed Ali Alhakim, told Reuters the documents should be examined by the U.N. Security Council as evidence that Islamic State could be trafficking in organs to raise cash.
The May raid in Syria, which resulted in the death of Islamic State top financial official Abu Sayyaf and the capture of his wife, netted seven terabytes of data in the form of computer hard drives, thumb drives, CDs, DVDs and papers, said Brett McGurk, U.S. President Barack Obama's Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIL, in an interview. Abu Sayyaf was a Tunisian militant whose real name was Fathi ben Awn ben Jildi Murad al-Tunisi.
U.S. officials have previously described the Abu Sayyaf raid and some of the documentation seized. But until now, none of the actual documents have been released - aside from materials illustrating Islamic State's trafficking in antiquities, made public at an event at New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art in September.
The U.S. government has shared some of the documents from the Abu Sayyaf raid with allied governments in an effort to increase their understanding of Islamic State in recent weeks as Washington works to shore up support for countering the group.
The group of documents reviewed by Reuters - entitled "Lessons Learned From the Abu Sayyaf Raid" - show how the Islamic State has provided a legal justification to its followers for a range of practices.
For instance, "Fatwa Number 64" dated January 29, 2015, provides detailed rules for rape, prescribing when Islamic State men can and cannot have sexual intercourse with female slaves.
The fatwa sanctioning organ harvesting justifies the practice in part by drawing an analogy to cannibalism in extreme circumstances, a practice it says earlier Islamic scholars had allowed. "A group of Islamic scholars have permitted, if necessary, one to kill the apostate in order to eat his flesh, which is part of benefiting from his body," it says.
McGurk said Islamic State's Research and Fatwa Committee reports directly to the group's leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
ORGANS OF 'INFIDELS'
The ruling on organ harvesting cites Islamic texts, principles and laws that it says support what it calls "the notion that transplanting healthy organs into a Muslim person's body in order to save the latter's life or replace a damaged organ with it is permissible."
Senior U.S. officials, including McGurk, said they have not been able to ascertain whether the Islamic State had followed through on the fatwa on organ harvesting.
The document provides "a religious justification for harnessing the organs of what they call infidels," he said.
William McCants, a Brookings Institution scholar who is author of the book "The ISIS Apocalypse," said the group's ruling on slavery and human organs don't represent modern Islamic interpretations.
In February, Alhakim, had urged the U.N. Security Council to investigate the deaths of 12 doctors in the Islamic State-held city of Mosul. Alhakim said the doctors were killed after refusing to remove organs.
The U.N. special envoy for Iraq, Nickolay Mladenov, said at the time that he could not confirm the claim, but it would be investigated. The U.N. has not provided an update on that investigation, which Alhakim said he would ask the Security Council to revisit.

All I can say, is listening to some of D. Trump's rants, it seems logical that a group of terrorists, fanatics, psycho's and mad people would go just a wee bit further in spreading fear and dissension.

Perhaps , nature is getting read to thin down the over-abundant human race?? Maybe, a good world war would bring our numbers down enough to make room for the other species of life on this planet?? Perhaps we are already too abundant to simply thin out. We have the weapons, we have the (apparently) will, and it seems the force is with us. LOL. Happy holidays everyone!!

Geezus, you're an idiot.
You got the thumbs up because it is Christmas and everyone should get something nice even if they don't deserve it. You might think about trying a different tactic.....you know like a reasonable exchange of opinions, in place of name calling. Just saying...

hmmm... methinks the world could do with about one point six billion less people about now. Isn't it ironic though that the only group really getting down to reducing the root cause of AGW, i.e., people, is iz-iz! How mentalfuss must be silently cheering them on!

Missing woman's dad encouraged Islam over meds
By Chris Doucette, Toronto Sun

A young woman whose father encouraged her to study Islam as an alternative to medication to treat her bipolar disorder and schizophrenia is missing.

Taneesha Brown’s struggle with mental illness has caused her family concern on several occasions in recent years, but those who know and love the 25-year-old now fear for her life after she walked out into the cold from her aunt’s Markham home Tuesday night.

“She told my sister she just wanted to go outside for fresh air and she just took off,” Uriel Brown told a news conference Thursday of his daughter’s disappearance.

The distraught father and Taneesha’s brother, Kevin Mazerolle, pleaded for her to contact a family member and let them know she’s OK.

Taneesha’s relatives recalled her once taking off with no shoes on a winter night in Sudbury.

Uriel said he introduced his daughter to the teachings of Islam in hopes it would help her avoid taking medication.

But her bipolar disorder and paranoid schizophrenia only worsened.

York Regional Police Det. Mark Charlebois said Taneesha left her aunt’s home on Castlemore Ave., near McCowan Rd. and Major Mackenzie Blvd., around 10:30 p.m.

The mercury dipped to about -13C Tuesday night, not including the wind chill factor.

It’s believed she was wearing a traditional Muslim outfit consisting of a white, knee-length dashiki, white pants and a white hijab on her head. She’s about 5-foot-5, 122 lbs. and was carrying a black purse.

Anyone with information is urged to call police at 1-866-876-5423, ext.7541, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Video released in search for missing woman

Police searching for a missing woman whose father encouraged her to study Islam as an alternative to medication to treat her bipolar disorder and schizophrenia need help identifying a man seen on video speaking to her the night she disappeared.

Taneesha Brown, 25, was last seen at her aunt’s Markham home on Castlemore Ave., near McCowan Rd. and Major Mackenzie Blvd., around 10:30 p.m. Jan. 12. She told her family she was going out for some air and never returned.

The mercury dipped to about -13C that night, not including the wind chill factor.

York Regional Police on Monday released surveillance video from Bur Oak Secondary School in Markham showing Brown interacting with a man at about 10:48 p.m. Police say the man is a witness, not a suspect. They said Brown walked away after the conversation, heading southbound towards 16th Ave.

Police said officers will be searching the partially frozen ponds west of the school as part of their investigation.

It’s believed Brown was wearing a traditional Muslim outfit consisting of a white, knee-length dashiki, white pants and a white hijab on her head. She’s about 5-foot-5, 122 pounds and was carrying a black purse.

Brown’s father, Uriel, told a press conference last Thursday that he introduced his daughter to the teachings of Islam in hopes it would help her avoid taking medication.

But her bipolar disorder and paranoid schizophrenia only worsened.

Anyone with information is urged to call police at 1-866-876-5423, ext.7541, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Missing woman told stranger she was 'starting on a journey'
By Chris Doucette, Toronto Sun
First posted: Tuesday, January 19, 2016 08:49 PM EST | Updated: Tuesday, January 19, 2016 09:13 PM EST
On the night Taneesha Brown vanished in Markham, she told a stranger she was “starting on a journey,” then walked off into the frigid night without a coat, hat or gloves.

That was a week ago and the missing woman’s mom, who flew here from Thunder Bay to be with her three other grown children, is desperate for her daughter’s safe return.

“We’re all trying to be strong for one another, but every day it’s growing harder,” Kim Mazerolle said Tuesday, her eyes welling up with tears. “Every minute feels like an hour and every hour feels like a day.”

The distraught mom believes Taneesha is still alive.

“I’m very optimistic,” she said. “If we lose hope, what else do we have?”

Taneesha, 25, has struggled with bipolar disorder and paranoid schizophrenia. Her father, Uriel Brown, told a press conference last week he encouraged his daughter to study Islam as an alternative to medication to treat her mental illness.

She began the new year living on her own for the first time in Scarborough.

But within a week, her family became concerned about her mental state and suggested she stay at her aunt’s home in Markham near McCowan Rd. and Castlemore Ave.

On Jan. 12, around 10:30 p.m., after telling her aunt she was stepping outside for some fresh air, Taneesha vanished.

York Regional Police found video of Taneesha walking through an empty parking lot at nearby Bur Oak Secondary School 15 minutes later.
She suddenly changes directions and heads toward a man. The two talk briefly, then go their separate ways as the man waves goodbye.

Investigators have since spoken to the man in the video.

“She approached him and asked how he was doing,” Const. Andy Pattenden said. “The man asked if she was alright, as she wasn’t dressed for the weather, and she said she was fine and that she was starting on a journey.”

Kevin Mazerolle, 30, the eldest of the four siblings, said he clings to the hope his sister is “somewhere safe and warm.”

“But seeing that video, seeing her walk around, to me she looked lost,” he said. “And saying she was on a journey, that scared me.”

He fought back tears at the thought of his sister’s thin white dashiki blowing in the wind and her bare hands exposed to the cold on a night when the mercury dipped to -13C.

Kim Mazerolle wants people to know her daughter is much more than a woman who threw herself into her religion to cope with mental illness.

“Taneesha is a very beautiful, loving, caring person with a big heart,” she said.

She also said Taneesha “loves life,” so she doesn’t believe her daughter would hurt herself.

She pleaded for GTA residents to keep an eye out for Taneesha and to notify police of any sightings.

The heartbroken mom also wants her daughter to know she’s not in trouble.

“We love you, we miss you and we want you back.”

Afghan woman's nose cut off by husband
The Associated Press and Postmedia Network
First posted: Tuesday, January 19, 2016 09:18 AM EST | Updated: Tuesday, January 19, 2016 03:42 PM EST
A young woman in a remote northern region of Afghanistan had her nose cut off by her husband, who regularly beat her and who had recently taken a second wife -- a seven-year-old girl.
Fawzia Salimi, a hospital director in Maymana, capital of Faryab province, said 22-year-old Reza Gul was brought in early Monday having lost a great deal of blood. The man reportedly used a pocket knife.
Gul's husband, 25-year-old Mohammad Khan, has since fled their village. It's unknown if he took his child bride with him.
Salimi said Khan had returned from Iran three months ago, and since then had repeatedly beaten and tortured Gul.
Community elders and Taliban representatives in their village had tried mediating with the family to help sort out their problems, a traditional method of dealing with marital issues, Salimi said.
Now local security forces are searching for Khan, and so is the Taliban, which maintains control of the area.
Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said the group's gunmen were "seriously searching the area." If and when Khan is found, "he will be dealt with according to Shariah law."
Before cutting off his wife's nose, Khan had promised Taliban leaders in the village that he would stop harming Gul.
Severing women's noses is not unheard of in Afghanistan, where domestic violence is rampant, and like most abuse probably happens more often than is publicly acknowledged.
The case of Aisha Mohammadzai shocked the world in 2010 when she appeared on the cover of Time magazine with her nose cut off.
Photos of Gul circulating on social media have sparked online anger.
Salimi said she is trying to arrange transport to a hospital that can provide further treatment, including plastic surgery.

'Heartbreaking' to think of Taneesha out in cold
By Chris Doucette, Toronto Sun
First posted: Wednesday, January 20, 2016 07:10 PM EST | Updated: Wednesday, January 20, 2016 07:14 PM EST
MARKHAM - Taneesha Brown’s family hasn’t given up hope that they will find their missing loved one and neither have the cops.

A team of York Regional Police investigators have been working hard to locate the 25-year-old since she vanished without a trace eight days ago in Markham.

“Investigators are following up on the many tips and leads that have been coming in,” Const. Andy Pattenden said Wednesday. “So there is a lot of work going on behind the scenes that the public doesn’t see.”

But police still have no idea what happened to the young woman, who suffers from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia.

Earlier this week, after flying to the city from her home in Thunder Bay to be with her other three grown children, the distraught mom said she felt compelled to put herself in her missing daughter’s shoes.

She sat outside for several hours wearing a sweatshirt and jacket.

“I needed to now what Taneesha would be feeling if she was out in this cold weather,” Kim Mazerolle said. “I was totally numb and my hands didn’t stop tingling until the next day.

“It’s heartbreaking to think she’s out there and not equipped for this.”

Anyone with information regarding Brown’s whereabouts should call police at 1-866-876-5423, ext.7541, or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.

WHAT’S KNOWN SO FAR:

Brown had been relying on her Muslim faith, not meds, for her mental illnesses.
She left her aunt’s McCowan Rd. and Castlemore Ave.-area home Jan. 12 around 10:30 p.m.
Video captured her 18 minutes later walking through Bur Oak Secondary School parking lot.
Brown told a stranger she was “starting on a journey.”
She had on a thin white dashiki, white pants and a white hijab.
Toronto Police Marine Unit have been searching nearby ponds using a remotely-operated vehicle.

B.C. teacher disciplined for repeatedly calling Muslim student 'Taliban'
THE CANADIAN PRESS

VANCOUVER -- A Vancouver Island high school teacher has been disciplined for referring to a Muslim student as Taliban.
A ruling from the British Columbia Commissioner for Teacher Regulation says Sooke Grade 11 math teacher Matthew Pell repeatedly singled out the student in the fall of 2014.
The ruling says Pell admitted to referring to the teen as "Taliban" and also told the class "don't make her angry, otherwise she will bomb you."
He agreed the comments amount to professional misconduct.
Pell received a written warning from the Sooke School District in May and has now been reprimanded and ordered to complete a cultural sensitivity course by June.
The ruling says failure to complete the course could result in the loss of Pell's teaching certificate.
