FBI must be on contract with CNN to supply them with far-out speculation stories to intrigue the public. :)
These reports of cyber spying are so mixed up and ambiguous, they look like tempests in teapots. When does intelligence get time to keep an eye on important matters like who's planning terrorism and what to do about it? Good diversionary tactics, I guess.

I don't condone Russian espionage. Heck, I don't even condone Canadian espionage. If I were abroad, and found out that a Canadian was there spying on my host state for the Canadian government, I myself would turn him in. So imagine how quickly I'd turn in a Russian spy spying on my own country.

But in this case, the Russians did not stuff ballots or anything. They just released information.

Again, I'm not condoning their espionage, but merely saying it could have created no more than the slightest dent in the election. If anything, it probably cost Trump more votes than it did Clinton.

how do you know it wasn't the CIA? They are experts in this field and could easily make it look like the hacks came from RUssia. Or even do it themselves from Russia.

This couldn't get any better.

I wanted to get to Trump's complete fail today but this has to come first.

John McCain passes dossier on secret Trump-Russia contacts to FBI

Trump’s transition team did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but late on Tuesday, Trump tweeted: “FAKE NEWS – A TOTAL POLITICAL WITCH HUNT!” He made no direct reference to the allegations.

An official in the US administration who spoke to the Guardian described the source who wrote the intelligence report as consistently reliable, meticulous and well-informed, with a reputation for having extensive Russian contacts.

Some of the reports – which are dated from 20 June to 20 October last year – also proved to be prescient, predicting events that happened after they were sent.

One report, dated June 2016, claims that the Kremlin has been cultivating, supporting and assisting Trump for at least five years, with the aim of encouraging “splits and divisions in western alliance”.
