All nations and peoples in all countries and in all generations: they know God the Creator and know about the Hereafter which starts with the Afterlife that follows death.
But the idea about God as One God and about the Hereafter is ambiguous and mysterious.
I heard someone saying: None has returned from the Afterlife to tell us what is there.

The book Man after Death explains about the Afterlife: the spirit, the soul, the genie, the angel, the special senses of the soul, the Judgment and Requital, the fire of Hell, the Gardens or Paradises and many other valuable subjects.
It includes also a trip in the world of souls or the Afterlife which lasted for one hour of time of one who lost consciousness and his soul departed his body to make tourism in the world of the Afterlife or the world of souls... and which describes that world in much detail. Was it death or fainting?

While watching some Korean series, I found them believe in the existence of souls, but they have many mistakes in this respect: e.g. they burn the body of the dead, then put the ash in a vase in their cemetery, then visit it every now and then: to speak to the vase as if the dead is there in the vase hearing their words and seeing them; they apologize to him about many things and ask his permission to do many things.

In another Korean series, I saw them mix the soul of the dead with some living persons: so that these souls speak to the living person and he speaks to them , which might be derived from Christians who believe in the purification of the dead; e.g. if someone is murdered, the soul of the killed one will be locked until he is retaliated and then go to heaven.

I argued with some Muslims who read this book, but who do not believe and who are not convinced: I said to him: if you read this book, you will change your concept about death and the world of souls or the Afterlife.
So you cannot deny it, because it has been inserted in your conscience.

Christians believe in the purging
They mean the dead has to suffer in one way or another in the afterlife, then he goes to heaven.
In some American movies, they let the soul of the dead wait until he is excused by the living person who suffered somehow from the dead.
In other movies, the dead has to be retaliated and he takes his revenge on the murderer, then he goes to heaven.
So Christians think that all of them will go to heaven in some way or another: because they are redeemed by Jesus Christ.

Therefore, the purging might be correct, but not according to their imagination; the 'devoted Muslim' who is a monotheist will have his punishment in the life of this World or in the Afterlife, then when he completes his punishment will go to Paradies in heaven.

Animals have spirits, not souls. The soul is that of a human and a genie.
The spirit can also be said for trees and plants but we cannot say these have souls.
When the baby becomes hearing, seeing and perceiving.. then he is said to have a 'soul'. Before that he has a spirit.
