Oil will be around a long time and we need fuel for trucks. Electric trucks don't
rumble. The problem is when a slowdown comes the turnaround time is as long
as the downturn. Things in Alberta are going to take a while to recover
Oil slowing down doesn't cause the ecomomy to slow down. An economy that has already slowed down slows down the oil patch. Cheap gas means what when you don't have the money to fill it up and if you did there is no place local that isn't already closed. When oil tumbles the price fort all other things should drop the same amount. that $12 steal now costs $4 and that $120 bottle of wine is now worth $40. Carry that through to the belongings of the rich and there never would be ant down-turns. (which is actually the normal economy being run in an in-efficient manner and the 'boom' years just moves goods from one location to another. The downturn in North America only means the economy is picking up someplace else.
All the fake wars away from the shores of North America will leave us with no real armaments to hold back a gang of bandits let alone an invading army.
E-Trucks would be a blast, each wheel being it's own engine and driveline. Power by a small NG turbine that keeps running at a constant speed to drive the motors and keep the capacitors at full charge. If you want to stay with fuel bring back the 2 lung John-deere tractor where the pistons were the size of kitchen garbage cans, even then NG would help on the steep hills
