The man actually physically assaulted a child sitting next to him on his mother's lap.

An Idaho executive charged with slapping a toddler on a Delta Airlines flight has been slapped with a pink slip, his former employer says.
Joe Rickey Hundley, 60, is no longer employed by AGC Aerospace and Defense, Composites Group.
AGC's President and CEO Al Hasse said Sunday that reports of recent behavior by one of his unit executives is "offensive and disturbing."
"We have taken this matter very seriously and worked diligently to examine it since learning of the matter on Friday afternoon. As of Sunday, the executive is no longer employed with the company," Hasse said.

It sure is. He must have been drunk...or... something. Off his meds, I don't know.

Actually on the news tonight they say he had a DUI last summer I believe. This guy is an
idiot and deserved what he got. Isn't it nice to know we travel with all kinds of people who
insist on displaying their ignorance.

Out of curiosity, what did the "toddler" do to provoke this attack?

The kid didn't look too abused to me. The mother said she had been bleeding but
I saw no sign of it. I don't like physical abuse of children but that mother looked
too comfortable......Kind of looked like a scam to me.

She was on TV this morning. Didn't look like a scam then.

Really? So you feel there are perfectly acceptable reasons to strike a 19 month old across the face?

Oh come on. The guy was drunk and there were no obvious marks on the child. The worst damage was the stupid comment using the n-word.

Gerry you are a dolt. Some "toddlers" deserve a smack on the ****. I've helped raise two grand children
and and a couple of great, great grand children. There are a lot worse things that can happen to kids than a smack
on the backside.

Seriously? This story is not about whether or not it is acceptable for a parent to spank a child. This is about a complete stranger choosing to do so. He had absolutely no right to do what he did. I would certainly hope that should some stranger decide to physically discipline one of your great, great grand children you wouldn't just sit there and say "Well, they were asking for it."

If anyone dared to raise a hand to child under my care, they'd lose the hand.

Juan this child was sitting on his mother's lap beside this douche. The child began to cry upon decent. He leaned over and whispered the N word into her ear and slapped her child. If he had leaned over and called your grandbaby a name would that be acceptable? No.

As far as slapping a child across the face, if you were sitting beside me and slapped your OWN child across the face count on being reported. And good luck with Child Protective Services, they don't see face slaps as discipline.
