Zelensky arrived in London this week to ask the British for fighter jets.

This isn't surprising when Britain is second only to the US in funding Ukrainian war efforts.

As the EU drags its heels, not for the first time Britain is expected to bankrupt itself in the name of defending the liberty of Europe and the world.

Remember when the Brits did the right thing because it was needed, and DIDN'T whine about it?

Yeah. Bankrupting ourselves and sending half our army's tanks to another country to help it fight a war which has no detrimental effect on us whatsoever is nothing to whine about.

We have a cost of living crisis sparked by the unnecessary lockdowns which you supported (I seem to remember) whilst at the same time sending loads of money to Ukraine.

That you think the war in Ukraine is not 'detrimental' shows you've got more than the usual screws loose there, Blackie.

Don't forget the cheese with your whine.

(Also, your cost of living crisis isn't due to lockdowns but I don't expect you to be smart enough to get that, either.)

How's it detrimental to the United Kingdom?

If this war, according to Russia/Putin, is to separate Russia from NATO/Whatever, where do you think the borders of their “moat” against the west would lay to to make them feel safe/secure?

If they’re able to take Ukraine, will that be enough or the beginning? Would Britain & Russia end up as next-door neighbours (?) if you’re lucky?

You're kidding, right?

Unless the UK is isolated from the rest of the world - which you're not - the war in Ukraine has affected you, making it detrimental.

Well then, I stand corrected; your problems are due to your government being stupid during Covid.

If the guarantees that were signed in '94 by the UK and the US were followed they would have troops in Ukraine right now. Consider them getting off cheap

Being a major power's difficult and expensive, Blackie. Britain always has the choice to drop to non-power status. That appearing to be what you want.

You can be like Italy, proclaiming your past glory to an audience of nobody.

Might as well, you're already well on the way.

Rule, Brittania!
