Most Americans would hate it if they were having a referendum on whether or not America should join the utter disaster that is the EU and May suddenly appeared on their TV screens telling then that (in Britain's interests, not America's) America should join that disastrous organisation and if it didn't Britain would would make life uncomfortable for America as retaliation for American voters defying May.
What exactly would be the source of your expertise on "most Americans?"

Oh, yes, your delusions. Carry on.

I think we all know I'm right.

As for Boris, he once described Hillary Clinton as looking "like a sadistic nurse in a mental hospital" and in November he dismissed people calling for a boycott of Israeli goods as "Lefty academics."

What a guy!

After what BoJo said about Hillary it'd be hilarious if Hillary became President and they have to meet each other.

Best way to deal with that is to refuse to meet him. A Head of State is under no obligation to pay any mind to the lackey of a lackey.

Go BoJo! Go BoJo! Go BoJo!

It wasn't that long ago that he renounced his US citizenship, having been born in Manhattan's Upper East Side.

Good for PM Theresa May.

As with Donald Trump you can get a better sense of the character of a person by who one's enemies are than by who one's friends are. And if he has outraged the slimy Eurocrats who i'm sure expected May to appoint some amenable Foreign Secretary who would agree to some cosmetic nods to independence while retaining the structure of the EU.. then that's all for the good.

That's what Britain needs as Brexit front man.. a bulldog, not a poodle (like Tony Blair) or a shnauzer.

The Remainers were accusing Boris of being a coward and of "running away" now that he has achieved Brexit (the reality is that he was stabbed in the back in the Tory leadership contest by fellow Leaver Michael Gove, who has today been sacked as Justice Secretary by Theresa May).

Now the same people are upset that BoJo has been made Foreign Secretary and will have a central role in seeing Brexit through!

Poor Boris can't win.

Glad to see Gove go, what a sleaze. Theresa May is sounding more impressive all the time

And Boris is the boss.. presumably he can get some like minds to staff key positions in the Brexit negotiations.

There will be war before any negotiated exit from the EU and after that who knows.

Especially since Theresa May is one of the hated Bremainers. He was calling for her execution a couple weeks ago.

Theresa May is a longstanding eurosceptic who only campaigned for Remain reluctantly, probably because she thought it'd be good for her career prospects. She very nearly campaigned to leave the EU, but probably ended up thinking that doing so may backfire on her had Leave lost.

Now, with her new eurosceptic cabinet, we're seeing her real eurosceptic side coming out.
