Another bit of Pondering - This one has been bounced around by me for years -

I believe that there are many well educated, highly talented people on this thread and I guess this would fall into the physics side of the house. Is it possible ( theoretically) in the future to have a space vehicle that uses light as a form of propulsion - And if so could this vehicle fly at the speed of light??I am not just asking for the hell of it as I have another question if the answer is Yes.

The real problem is that if the ship can travel at the speed of light, then what good would headlights be.

My wife and 8 year old grand daughter went for theirs Wed. evening and waited about an hour. The wife came through hers without a problem, but the grand daughter had a sore arm and bit of fever and felt generally crappy so missed school Thurs. I may go for mine today or I may not to give the young tads a chance to get theirs. We old codgers don't really need it anyway.
That's a nice thought JLM but the kids are getting it anyway for one thing and for another, I work with a couple of dummies that want to get their one year pin for not missing a day's work over the year so they are coming to work anyway. One insists on standing right beside me at my till. When I told her I got my shot she said she wasn't getting hers and that I could be dead in 10 days. I told her she could be dead in 10 days! I assume she is referring to the 10 days it takes for the vaccine to become fully effective. Who knows. My sister is 73 years old and was sicker than a dog with this flu so don't ever think you can't get it.

What if you're cruising along nicely at the speed of light and some critter jumps out in front of you? They wouldn't hear your horn, would they? SPLAT!
