Company towns got away from that label by paying 'wages'. (The fact they got is all back as they owned all the stores and bars is usually downplayed)

When it comes to what this nation is about, these are the founding fathers. Morgan, Rockefeller and Carnegie. You can throw Ford in there as well. The limeys were interested in being land owners.

Ahhhh... no.

It was these guys.

I went to school Eagle. Studied out of the same American History books as you.Not sure you see where I'm coming from.

I see that Rockefeller, Carnegie, Morgan were great leaders of business and men of their time. They also could be very ruthless while they built their empires. But are they Founding Fathers... nay.

The America that exists today, is much different than the one before the robber barons. Two different nations. Two different sets of founders.

The politics hasn't changed since the founding fathers era, with the exception that members of Congress no longer challenge each other to duels.

Today is much different from the days of Carnegie, Rockefeller, Morgan, etc. They were just men of their time.
